I've found that program to be very innacurate. They're idea of "running" Crysis is 640x480 on Low with 15 frames per second.

They use the games official minimum requirements, and I've always found official system requirements to be quite low. And I don't see what alternative to the official requirements a site would use, so even if there are alternative sites, you'll should get the same results from them.

I never use sites like that, i usually guess by how the game looks and what engine it runs on.

There's one made by the guys who make 3D Mark which is based on real system configurations (I believe). I've been to it once or twice, but I'm not sure where it is since I got there on accident on both occasions. It was a nice place.

    I can...

Really the only way you will be able to tell if you can run a game correctly is to try the demo of said game or actually play the game.

Those are similar to the specs of most XBOX360/PS3 games sadly

Click the "recommended" tab instead of the "minimum" tab.

If i actually was concerned about it i would go by whatever is the recommended and NOT the minimum.   If you are at recomended you should be good.  People i know who are at or just above a games minimums the game will run meh and look meh.  Not a very fun gaming experience as far as i'm concerned.  I have always been in the lucky position of being far over recomended so ive never personally worried about it but i do have alot of friends who ask advice on such things.   So maybe your best bet is talking to someone nerdy :) who you can also trust their opinion.
