Building a new comptuer, I haven't built a new one in like 6 years, I'm long overdue for an upgrade. Now, hopefully I can figure out how to put all this junk together.. Might need some advice on how to throw all this stuff together, I need someone who knows what they are talking about and tell me if this looks good.

Not sure which video card to get... need some advice. Should I wait for the Direct X 11 cards to come out or what?
Also, OS will be Win 7.

The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
Building a new comptuer, check out the rig.
Your rig looks great. I would wait for Nvidia's Dx11 cards to come out, probably around dec or jan. Ati has two great Dx11 cards out now but they are short on supply. I plan to wait till jan or feb to build my next rig to see if Ati's cards come down in price when Nvidia puts out their Dx11 offerings.
Looks good man, got a few pointers for you though. I would go with Corsair Dominator RAM if you're set on getting Corsair. I got 6GB with a combo deal from Newegg for about $120. Speaking of which, look though each major items combo deal list on Newegg, you can save a bunch of cash.
I would skip the WD Caviar Green. I've heard about some performance issues with them and that they're disappointingly slow. I would try one of these. They're nice and speedy.
How much are you looking to spend on a GPU? I would say get a high-end DX10 card now or soon; I have a GTX 285 and it runs everything silky smooth.
Are you dead-set on the monitor? If it goes for how much Cnet said, $380 for a 23 inch monitor isn't great. I would recommend this or this, if you want TV inputs as well. The T260HD is on sale right now for $330, BTW.
Getting an internal Blu-Ray drive would be cheaper.
That DVD drive is way overpriced. Look for a Samsung or LG model around $25.
Definitely invest in a good CPU cooler. My i7 cooks even under medium load (I haven't even maxed it out yet, it's a monster!) That Zalman looks good.
Good luck!
The graphics card is a tossup at the moment. Nvidia's probably not going to release its next gen cards until early-mid 2010 (absolutely no news as of yet of the release date makes a holiday release rather dubious). Then, when they finally are released they're going to be extremely overpriced for at least 2 months. What this translates to is you could be waiting for the better part of a year in order to get your hands on a DX11 card at a reasonable price. However you'll have DX11 and performance for years to come, especially with the scalability of SLI.
Another path could be to get GTX 275, 280 or 285 and run those in SLI, which is what you're mobo is handy for. You'll get great performance and value now and for years to come, but the downside is you miss DX11, which has tesselation amongst other features.
A third possible route you could take is to buy a more budget card, and use that for sub-extreme gaming until you can finally get a GT 300 card sometime in 2010.

"I wouldn't wait for nvidia dx11 cards. 1,7% yield from first batch and they're going to release it sometime next year. Then when it is released people say 'just wait for ATI's new 59xx series, it'll come out in few months'.
This is actually pretty similar to the machine I just put together for myself. It looks pretty solid. Only suggestion I have, are maybe consider a smaller PSU if you're going with just one GPU. I have the 650w version of that PSU, and it runs my machine fine (w/one geforce gtx 260). For the GPU, it really depends on how soon you're going to be building it, and whether you'll want to play the latest and greatest right away. If you don't mind waiting till early next year, wait for the new cards, and maybe get a cheaper card for now. If not, then get one now. I was impatient, and figured that I would be fine without a DX11 card. So I got my 260, and everything I've tried runs perfectly with everything turned all the way up. I'd probably recommend going with the cheaper card for now, and upgrading later. You can definitely find an inexpensive card that will play all the big titles just fine.
I've been using that mouse for 4 years and it's still as functional as ever. GREAT piece of hardware.
I owuld go with a higher resolution monitor than 1920x1200 if only 23 inches.
I need to sell my pair of Geforce 9800 GXT+ for a new Radeon. Then again I have an SLI mobo. Fucking shit.
When are those 300 series Nvidia cards coming out?
I've made some changes, I'm almost there on my complete build. You can check it out here.
