The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
First off, can you do Crossfire with two different brands, but of the same generation? I have the XFX 5770 and don't reallly see a noticable difference between it and HIS' 5770 except for a price tag difference. If it's possible, is there a significant perfomance difference between two exact same cards versus two different cards of brands, but the same generation?
1) Brand of card doesn't mater when pairing cards for crossfire. In fact, I think the only requirement is that they believe from the same family of cards; ie you can pair any two HD4K cards or any two HD5K cards. 2) Also, yes some brands are better than others; however, you'll be safe regardless of the brand you purchase.
