Hey everyone,
Post your favorite PC game (or games) of all time and the reasons you love them so much.

Mine would most likely be X-Com: UFO Defense, with the rest of the Trilogy in hot pursuit.
The combination of world-screen micromanagement with the tense tactical combat and creepy/mysterious aliens just makes me so excited.
I have so many great memories from that game.

XCOM FTW! That's probably one of the first games I ever played.

In recent years I'd have to say Portal has assumed a special place in my PC collection, with Dawn of War in there too.

Hehe, ya those are some great games.
Spent soooo many hours on the first four.

Kinda surprised noone mentioned "The Witcher", one of the better PC RPG's to come lately.
Great story, where "bad" decisions kinda make you like a dick :P

Baldur's Gate II

#30 Posted by NeoTheta (219 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Easily my favorite PC game is Deus Ex. Sets the standard for so many games, and is just an amazing experience to this day. I really hope the third game will stay true to the first game, and not be a general disappointment like the second one.

#31 Posted by TheIneffableBob (243 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

This is a tough one, but I'll say StarCraft.

#32 Posted by mclazyj (5 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Starflight is still my all time favorite game on any platform.  It is very dated now, but I have never been so awed by a game in my 36 years on this planet.  Knights of the Old Republic is a close second followed by the original X-Com and the original Bard's Tale.

#33 Posted by Ossi (1225 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

StarCraft
Diablo
Warcraft 2

In that order.

#34 Posted by Nomin (870 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Alpha Centauri

#35 Posted by fenixREVOLUTION (731 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Diablo 2

#36 Posted by RedSox8933 (2410 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

civ IV or diablo 2

#37 Posted by jimmy5150 (122 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

all time would probably be any game in the space quest series (that's what got me started)

more recently, probably civilization 4

#38 Posted by Forzen (89 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Half-life or Diablo 2 for me.

#39 Posted by MrWolf (8 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Doom started it all, but I'll have to go with Baldur's Gate - awesome game.

#40 Posted by SphynxTA (20 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Duke Nukem 3D or Half-Life 2.

#41 Posted by Spark (46 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Doom, Daggerfall or Deus Ex. I loved those three the most and have put many hous into each of them.

#42 Posted by IndieBoy (109 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

My favourite is Battlefield 2!

#43 Posted by Hastur (12 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

My top 5 would be:

Portal
Fallout 1
Diablo 1
Half Life 1
Heroes of Might and Magic 3

#44 Posted by TheBeast (1931 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

The Monkey Island series. No question.

#45 Posted by DavidLeeRoth (137 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Half-Life.

#46 Posted by nezze00 (144 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

It's between Half-Life and Counter-Strike.

#47 Posted by nutcrackr (67 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Team Fortress Classic probably, hundreds upon hundreds of hours in that game, MP was such a huge blast and it never seemed to get old. Great fun. I even spent a good few months "concing" which was basically lots of maps made for scout and medic to conc through, over big jumps, amazing stuff really.

Runners up would be Dues Ex, Half-Life.

#48 Posted by floorswine (166 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Any of the Command & Conquer games! I completely loved Red Alert 1 back in the day, and C&C Generals: Zero Hour is great for LAN games.

#49 Posted by Dollarbill (12 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago

Diablo II - played it all day long and still do sometimes

#50 Posted by crumble (4 posts) - 4 years, 9 months ago
