The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
I want this.
That mobo is fucking huge. It probably can't even fit in quite a few full tower cases. What is actually quite exciting about it is that it may be able to implement Core i7 processors along with the Xeon counterpart. http://www.techpowerup.com/113881/Core_i7_Dual-Socket_Operation_Possible_.html OC'd core i7's in tandem? Hell yeah. There's also enough room on there for Quad SLI/Quadfire and a PhysX card to boot.
You're going to need to own your own power plant, though. Seriously, I don't even think there's a consumer-level PSU that could support all that. Also..."

No case for it, either. I have to wonder how a project like this even gets funding. There's a lot of incredible engineering going on here, but I can't imagine them producing or selling many of these. It's not exactly a server machine, so that lumps it into the consumer workstation market, where it is probably far too expensive to even think about." EVGA has confirmed that it is larger than either the E-ATX or SSI standards... "
"@Geno said:Yeah, but when there's a will there's a way. Someone on Youtube currently has an X58 Classified with 4x GTX 285's in SLI; I think he said he needed 2 1300W PSU's for it. It would be a spectacle just to see this running. Also, who needs a case when you can just splay it across the floor like some sort of grotesque machination from the future? You're going to need to own your own power plant, though. " Dear god... that puts my Striker Extreme to shame. "oh tell me about it. That actually puts my good ol ASUS Commando at even more shame. :p
" @Geno: Someone call Antec and get them to build a new Skeleton case! And yeah, I didn't think about the dual power supply solution immediately. Also, isn't 4-way SLI/Crossfire the max right now, anyway? And even that's got pretty spotty support. "
It is, but you can always add a Physx card in there. The spacing also allows for much better cooling.
" Lovely board but keeping that thing cooled would be a nightmare. "Lol yea, but if you have the money to buy a thing like that then no doubt you'll have a cooling system that cost more than the average high end PC.
Lmao all thought it would be pretty awesome, you can't really fit in it 7 video cards.
The max SLi you can do right now is quad, and besides, if you've got money for this, you're probably getting GTX260s and up, which are all sual-slot coolers. Therefore you can technically max out this board at Quad-SLi.
However don't get me wrong, that's still plenty beast.

Wow it looks pretty neat alright. Have no clue what any of this means though. Not really that technical.
Awesome Mobo. But the 7 PCIE slots can have a gfx card in all of them if they are Dual Slot.
Look up trubritar's videos on youtube, he has it running with 4 5870s in it :D
Well, technically with a bunch of single-slot cards, hardware and driver support from either Nvidia or AMD, and a death wish for having your computer burst into flames, you could totally fit 7 cards in there. There's probably a reason why neither of them bother putting the effort into coding though, because you could probably count the number of people who would purchase such a setup on both hands." And that case only supports up to EATX. This thing, according to the article, is larger than EATX or SSI (dual processor server board specifications), which means it doesn't fit any current standard size.
This seems pretty much just a dream concept board meant to catch interest for the brand (and I guess it worked on me).

Shit just got real...
http://www.guru3d.com/news/evga-classified-sr2-is-a-dualsocket-motherboard-announced/
It's probally for quad sli, then the rest of the pci express slots are for cuda so you can use it for physics.
" This shall go into my next computer. *makes note of this* "Dude, can you imagine all the VSTis, plugin effects and streams of HD video that thing could manage at the same time? My mouth waters at the thought!
Saw this in my Custom PC issue, board is a beast. But realistically I'd never need such power. Still... just look at it..... look!!! Insane!
