The modscene is a real plus for pc gamers, it can give a game extra lifespan. 

So enlight us: what mods are coming out soon/ not so soon that you are waiting for.

My favorite is Firearms: Source

As the name hints: its a HL2 mod, but one with a firm history. Firearms was a rather popular mod for HL.

You can compare it with CS, kinda. two teams shoot each other (end of comparison). Each map has different objectives (destroy crates in the base of the enemy, capture points). What made it stand out, imo, was the size/ quality of some maps (sd_durandal anybody), the fastpacedness (?) and the fact that you respawned instantly (with a 'pool' of lives like attackers have in rush mode in Bad Company 2). Loads of guns (some weird ones like the bizon). Aah memories. But its coming out in july (so in a couple of days) after 4 (im not sure) long years.

I played the hell out of some FA back in the day, I hope whatever comes out of the crazy IP fight is good.
 
I'm still waiting on Black Mesa Source so I can start my own endurance run of all of Half Life.  
I think I planned on doing it about 2 years ago after it had been announced, and I hoped it would come out before Episode 3, and here I am still waiting on both of them. : P 
 
But now that I think about it I've got nothing as far as other upcoming stuff, and HL1 mods were the majority of what I played back in the day. TF2 kinda acts like a mod for me because it's constantly changing and updating which is what I really loved about playing mods. Kind of upsetting now that I think about it.

that is true about TF2, never thought about it like that. Great game but after 500+ hours, im getting a bit bored with it.

Lots of dialog (not all great but what an achievement for a mod), deus ex like gameplay (stealth, action, dialog). Dudes worked on it for 7years...
