Monitor buzzing?

#1 Posted by Fredddi43 (222 posts) - 2 months, 24 days ago

Hey Duders,

Im currently using an Acer P243W and if there is any non-white content on screen, it starts this high-pitched buzzing noise. I'm afraid it might be racist.

If I open up a new browser window where the screen is completely white, it goes away, but it buzzes a lot on the desktop or this webpage for example. I found someone with this exact problem online, but the only answer to his forum thread was to take it back to his dealer, which I can't do, because I bought it used.

Is there anything I can do, settings-wise? I read about how changing monitor refresh rate may help, but don't know how...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

EM feedback, maybe? If you turn off everything else in your house, does the buzz still happen?

Try reseating the power and video cables at both ends.

Try a different power cable if you have one avaiable.

Put your monitor in your microwave and give it about two minutes on high and see if that fixes it.

One of these steps is probably not a good idea.
