I just saw this and I'm worried I'm not taking advantage of my full processor power.
    link to image
As you can see I have an AMD Phenom II X3 which is a triple core processor. Despite this Dragon Age seems to think that I have 1 core. And windows just thinks I have 3 processors.

Should I worry about this or is something wrong? Not very knowledgable in this stuff. Thanks.

I don't know much about AMD's triple-core procs, but do some research, i think you'll come up with some interesting conclusions about how odd number core procs don't work all that well.

That is very strange... I don't think you'll find the answer to that in internet forums, especially not a gaming forum.

But, hey, you can try. I unfortunately cannot help you.

How well does dragon age run? Windows seems to recognize it, so as long as the game is running alright then there shouldn't be a problem. Try running some benchmarks just to see what kind of performance you are getting.

    Edit.

Now that I actually look at it better, I have no idea what the reason is. It may just not show in the config screen. When you minimize the game and go into the Processes tab do you have options to enable/disable cores?

Use Rivatuners OSD (On Screen Display) to check your cores usage during gameplay. You might find that despite the config screen only detecting one core the game is actually making use of all 3.

If you press control+alt+delete you should see under performance 3 separate windows, that would mean you have 3 separate cores. If device manager is showing it then it's probably a stupid bug with windows that says you only have one core but it reads all 3. Let us know.
