The new Ati Cards are simply amazing, and very cheap too.

ATI Radeon™ HD Series... (3800 are the best current, 4800 latest). The 3800 are on par with the 9 series Nvidia and cheaper ;)

    Definitely worth a look :D

I was asking bout this too. Many people said 8800gt or 4850. Both under $200. I think the 8800 goes for like $120ish on sale and the 4850 $175ish on sale.

The ATI 3800 series is NOT better then the 9 series from nvidia

The only cards worth getting from ATI is either the 4850 4870 or wait for the 4870x2 which is a beast.
The 4850 has the best price/performance ration, its only about $195 on newegg and beats the 9800GTX.

if you want something cheaper then there's always the 8800GT which is now around $150, you can find one for less too and would give you AMAZING performance in high demanding games. If you want something even CHEAPER then get the 9600GT also very cheap and runs games decently.

By the way the 4870 goes for around $300 or a little less and the 4870x2 will be release around august and is said to be around $450 i think but beats every single nvidia card out there!

Just get an 8800. It can play CRYSIS on maximum settings with an OK framerate, and everything else with an FPS of 200.

the 8800GT is not 3x time better, infact its no where near that much, the 8800GT just about edges past it by AVG 3-5, and in some tests the 9600GT beats it. The best price/performance card would the HD 4850 is has replaced the 8800GT (which don't get me wrong is still an alright card but out of 10 its definetly a 5 now)

I am comparing the price of 8800GT and 9600Gt on newegg, so the cheapest 9600GT I foind is $105 which is the best value I have ever seen for such a great card, and also found a 8800GT for $130 so there the cards are not the same price, for some people a few bucks does matter alot to them.

TC here are the links give them a look:          8800GT             9600GT
