The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
I am looking into buying another gaming laptop (3 years ago I bought an Alienware M11x and I love it but it is time for an upgrade once again.) and I want to know what is the desktop equivalent of a GTX 765M ?
The 765M runs roughly a 25% deficit in memory bandwidth by opting for a fatter bus with much lower memory clock. Additionally it's base clock is something like 7% lower however it will probably hit the same speed when GPU boost kicks in. You may be able to reclaim that lost bandwidth with a bit of memory overclocking, it's still GDDR5 after all so there probably plenty of headroom there to reclaim that lost performance.
