I'm looking at getting a new gaming PC. I have been away from it for quite sometime and really would like to start with a good rig. I have limited time to try and catch up on the advancements i have missed in the last ten years to build my own. Any suggestions on where to go and what to look for in a good rig? Looking to spend $1500-2000.

Try to go with just one card over SLI/Crossfire.

You don't need more than 8 GB of RAM right now for games.

Pick a good case. You'll be using that for a while.

Build it yourself. It's easy and you'll learn more about your PC.

Only go with trusted manufacturers for your components.

Does that $1500-2000 need to include a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc.? Or just the system itself?

If you were at all interested in the idea of putting one together yourself, then I could put together a list of the parts I'd buy and why, and you could adjust from there.
