Mine totally blows all ya'lls outta the water.  hehehehe

    CPU - P4 3.2ghz HyperThread
    RAM - 2gigs DDR2 667
GPU - ATI x1300 PCI slot  (yes, original PCI)
    Monitor - HP 19in 4:3 1280 by 1024
    Speakers - Logitech z5500 5.1 setup
OS - XP Service Pack 2.something
    HD - 7200 rpm 250gigs

So yea, end of thread.  I totally rock your socks off.

I'm pretty much wating for Diablo 3 to come out, by that time I'll be set with USB 3.0.  I have a PS3 and a Wii to hold me over until then, and my current rig handles Half Life 2 at realllllly nice mid range settings framerates.  It's almost nice not being able to play current PC games.  Only choosing to upgrade every few years almost makes it like you're buying a new console, with the huge back catelog you have to catch up on.

    Vista HP 64bit
AMD Phenom 9850BE. Zalman cnps 9700 cooler
Biostar TA780G M2+ HP mobo. Board will not allow overclocking for whatever reason.
Even though it has built in bios auto/manual overclocking features, but it won't let me touch them.
so I guess I'll never know what this black edition phenom is capable of unless I get something else.
    Radeon 4850 w/ Thermalright T-rad2 cooler. OC'd 700core 1k memory.

Coolermaster lan case. Don't remember the name, but it's convenient as hell.

    CPU : Core 2 Duo E8400 (E0 stepping)
    RAM : 4GB G. Skill 800MHz 4-4-4-12 CAS
HDD : Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black (32MB cache)
case : Antec 300 (great case I might add, best I've ever had, including previous Antecs)
    OS : Vista 64-bit

    PSU : Corsair 550W
GPU : EVGA Geforce GTX260 core 216 (edit : 55nm btw, makes a big difference in power consumption, heat, and noise)

Bought it from AVADirect, they did a fantastic job.  Better build than I've ever done myself or had built for me, at a good price.  Computer is extremely quiet even when playing graphically intense games.

    Updated system specs:

    CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.6GHz
    Heatsink - ZEROTherm Nirvana
    MOBO - EVGA 750i FTW
    Memory - 8gigs of Mushkin DDR2 running at 4-4-4-12
    Hard Drives - 150 Raptor, 320 WD, 500GB Seagate, 750GB WD, 1TB Seagate
Video Card - EVGA GTX 280
    Physx Card - EVGA 8800GTS G92
    Monitor - LG 23" 1920x1080
    Mouse - Logitech G5
    Mouse Pad - QCK+
OS - Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP2
Case - Thermaltake Kandalf (removed panels and other junk from it)

Final upgrade will be a Q9550 with a CoolerMaster V8. Which will occur by the end of the year being that Q9550s are down to about 220 USD. So 300 dollar upgrade to maximize my system pretty much seems like a good idea :p

Built mine a little more than year ago. Specs are from memory.

    Antec Sonata 3
    Core 2 Duo E7200
    Gigabyte EP35-DS3L
    4GB Corsair DDR2
160GB Seagate Barracuda I had laying around
    E-VGA 9600GT
    Logitech G5 Mouse
    No-frills Logitech keyboard
    24 inch BenQ LCD

Wasn't anything amazing at the time, but I wanted something with a bigger screen and just enough power to push it in the games I was interested in. Still happy with it.

It's a piece of shit with a screen. Might as well be called the "Giantbomb and Asian Porn Rig" as that's pretty much all it does, and it can't even do those things together so no need to worry.

Is there an easier way other than DXdiag to figure out what exactly you have? Don't know off the top of my head.

A X-Fi isn't going to give you much benefit from Vista onwards.  MS changed the way Windows handles sound so it can never work well for how Creative designed their system.  If they want to stay afloat as a business they're going to have to re engineer their entire system.  So basically don't get any Creative sound card for the time being.

Yup, easily. That should be able to run every game out there right now, including Crysis, at high settings at a very decent framerate.

A slightly modified Antec 900 (original) case.
    Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 (Intel X38) motherboard.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 OCed to 3.6GHz, cooled with a Tuniq Tower cooler.
    4GB of Corsair DDR2 RAM.
Nvidia Geforce 8800GT, OCed quite a bit, and cooled with an Arctic Cooling Accelero passive cooler (though I use a 120mm fan on it to keep airflow smooth).
2x 500GB Seagate 7200rpm Hard Drives (sometimes kept in RAID 0, right now in RAID 1).
750W PC Power and Cooling power supply.
Dell 22" e-ips monitor (can't remember the model number off the top of my head, and it would take far too long looking it up).
A set of Logitech Z5300e 5.1 surround speakers.
Logitech Internet Navigator keyboard (one of those old beige with blue trimmings one, seen in CS:S cs_office), Logitech MX1000 laser mouse.
