Just thinking about games that deserve sequels (or a next instalment). Off the top of my head I'd Say Psychonauts, Monkey Island and Deus Ex (which is actually happening).

So what do you guys think?

The Sims.

Also The Curse of Monkey Island and Deus Ex both have sequels.

The Sims 3 is on the way Demilich.

Silver, the game from infogrames. I loved that!

Many people complained that Deus Ex's sequel was dumbed down. If anything, the 3rd one will be even more.

I know it has a sequel what I meant to say what games need a next game in the franchise. Anyway invisible war was nothing compared to DE1.

Impossible creatures sorely lacks a sequel.   Damn you relic.

That reminds me Company of Heroes could do with a sequel.

games that need sequals? hmmm... i'll just like a couple i think need a 2nd or 3 game to the series....

Syndicate Wars
Silver (this was awesome)
A Revamped version of Lemmings with todays graphics would be good
Vampire Bloodlines The Masquerade : Bloodlines
Ghost Master (there just isn't enough fun halloween games)
EVE-Online RTS (not really a sequal as such, but i think an RTS EVE would be an awesome addition to the series)
Beneath A Steel Sky
The Journey Man Project

silver... sounds so familar. i think i had a cd for it, just it never worked for me

now that i think of it Nox could use a good sequel, that was the game that got me into dugeon crawlers in the first place, though i never play any of them anymore

#14 Posted by xxNBxx (1084 posts) -

Grim Fandango, Planescape: Torment, Flashback would be an awesome

#15 Posted by Bucketdeth (8235 posts) -

Dungeon keeper, I know there is 1 and 2 but I would love to see a 3rd one.

#16 Posted by zeus_gb (634 posts) -

Populous was great !!! lol....  man i remember when i spent all xmas one year just playing i think was populous 3.... The issue i had with Silver was i could only get it to run on windows 98. When it came out, it was pretty much at the end of windows98 life cycle and i think XP was just out at the time.... Still couldn't get it to work with the capatibility tab in xp or vista.

Chaser could do with a sequal aswell.... awesome FPS which never got recognised

Sequel to Shogo.

A follow up to Blood II.

#22 Posted by Ma7moud (834 posts) -

Counter strike

#23 Posted by mracoon (5087 posts) -

I'd like to see Max Payne 3. It's rumoured to be in development but I don't think we've heard anything official about it.

#24 Posted by VACkillers (1212 posts) -

Deadly Tide would be simply amazing with todays graphics engines i think.....

#25 Posted by Bucketdeth (8235 posts) -

a game called Gore actually, I just remembered it, man did I fucking love that game, I got about 10-15 fps on it back on my old computer and I still loved it, it was basically a unreal tournament type game but a little different, it was very under rated and deserved alot more then it got.

the myth of soma
was the very first mmo i ever played and i loved every second of it back in 2000-1. - the servers are actually still up and a fair few still play it
(myth of some was actually the first to have an in-depth crafting system)

there was also legend of mir 2, but a sequal has came out so......

I totally agree... Monolith needs to bring those franchise back!

Fallout, oh wait.

Any classic Lucasarts game, really. Day of the Tentacle 2 anyone?

  • FreeSpace 3
  • Frontier Elite 4
  • Homeworld 3

yes I know they are all space games... ( except maybe for homeworld which is an RTS in space ) but I love em.. and  we use to have loads of good space games on the pc... games that would actually make use of people paying extra money to play with with a joystic from logitech or Microsoft or whatever brand you were using ... but not all the good ones are gone... = (
  • Joint Operation 2  [ almost forgot about this ^_^ ]
#30 Posted by mracoon (5087 posts) -

Yeah Lucasarts needs to do something with their adventure game franchises.

#31 Posted by Dan_CiTi (3974 posts) -

World In Conflict, that game fucking rocks.

#32 Posted by Otacon (2254 posts) -

X-Wing and a new Monkey Island!

#33 Edited by pause422 (6275 posts) -

system shock! and an actual successor to Battlefield 2 imo, not that 2142 shit...I'm done with the fucking future, I'm tired of my favorite military themed games going in the futre and feeling more sci-fi. But ya system shock 3 and a battlefield that is feels like a real sequel for the PC, not consoles at all..so it doesn't get dumbed down.

#34 Posted by giyanks22 (2950 posts) -

World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, Warcraft 3, Republic Commando.

Amen, Also a Lords of magic remake would be great!
#36 Posted by VACkillers (1212 posts) -

im still waiting on Battlefield 3..... it'll be better then bad company im hoping.... with at least SOME kind of singleplay support lol... im sure they will make a 2nd World In Conflict, that game is so big, and so good, it''d be hard pressed not to make some of 2nd one for that in my opinion.....

Just thought of another space game, I-WAR...... that game was fantastic when it came out back in the 90s, it'd be good to see a second one of that...... but probably the best space sequal would be a new X3 - reunuin, or a new game in the X-universe....

A Proper sequal to Imperium Galactica 2 would be good, not that jupitor project rubbish heh.....

#37 Posted by yellownumber5 (423 posts) -

I heard Populous!  Yes I loved that game.

Another homeworld would be awesome too.

I think the punishingly dense Imperium Galactica franchise could make a remake.  A LAN party of that game could last hours for one bout.

Hell yes X-Wing was tight or better yet a new TIE Fighter or even better better yet TIE Fighter vs. X-Wing

Odin Sphere....hands down.

All the problems I had with the game could easily be fixed in another production cycle.

Oh yea and Shogo: Mobile Armor Division FTW
#42 Posted by VACkillers (1212 posts) -

i think i may have mentioned this before, but in case i didn't, CHASER......... a FPS game

#43 Posted by Kaido (262 posts) -

Monkey Island.

#44 Posted by Joker (702 posts) -

Warcraft 4 please.

And also I would like a World in Conflict 2.

#45 Posted by bludst0ne (63 posts) -

I agree with StressedOutCat

Freespace 2 was just great. Homeworld was fantastic as well, the second one left a lot to be desired, at least in my opinion. I also agree that there need to be more Adventure games, bring on the resurgence! I can remember way back, after my family had gotten a new computer, it came with Day of the Tentacle and Lost Cities of Atlantis. A few years after that I remember playing Gabriel Knight...ah the good ol' days...

Ah! Just remembered. We need a sequel to SimTunes! That game was dope!

#46 Posted by PartWerewolf (60 posts) -

Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines
Max Payne 3

#47 Posted by Dalai (7789 posts) -

We're way overdue for a proper SimCity sequel.

#48 Posted by Snail (8776 posts) -

There are too many sequels already. We need something new.

Yeah, SimCity 4 was ok but it could have been better.

PartWerewolf :
max payne 3 is rumored to get released at the time of the pax payne movie with marky.... so this could be really awesome.... though they should have got kevin bacon to play as max payne instead of mark in my opinion.

2 old games that could do with sequals, Jagged Alliance and Gender Wars
