Define mouse acceleration. If you mean mouse speed, then there is an option in the control panel.

Anyways yeah, Windows 7 is getting too much attention for its own good... things like this are bound to happen, which dissuades some customers.

Even if it was Windows 7, I'm not planning on using the touch functionality anyway. I've been using it for a while now with a mouse and keyboard, and it works great.

If you get a good gamers mouse (from razer from example) the drivers provided will give you the option to turn off acceleration. It kind of sucks that the OS doesn't support that option directly (Have this problem on Mac for years) but assuming you use a good mouse (else you wouldn't care) the problem is most likely already solved by your mouse manufacturer.

I don't see how I'm the stupid one here. While the OS should provide an option to turn off mouse acceleration, I don't have a huge problem with it while playing games.

Yeah using it right now. It's working. The only problem I have right now is that the dvd-tray isin't working correctly. It doesn't let the cd/dvd out. But I haven't used any so it isin't a problem for me. Or it could be a problem with my computer only.  And no errors with my games as well. Dead Space, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Oblivion. And soon, Dragon Age : Origins! "

Microsoft wrote the original Mac OS upon request, and copied it shortly thereafter when it took off. Seems like the kind of thing any company would do if they saw something selling really well.

I am a Windows/Linux guy thanks to the fact that using the two together provides me with literally everything I'd ever want to do on a computer. I admit the faults of both (Windows is designed to run on virtually any hardware, so it naturally encounters issues, and Linux can't compete in some areas with more 'financed' OS's), but for me the benefits of both of these pieces of software vastly outweigh the negatives. I've used Macs, but never felt compelled in the slightest to buy one... though an iPod touch has been tempting. I can simply do more, for less, with more freedom on a PC at this point.

Regardless of any technical issues a demo of Windows 7 has, I'm going to triple boot XP, Vista, and 7 on my gaming/music production computer as soon as I get around to partitioning another hard drive. I agree with previous posts suggesting that this is a natural result of something getting constant press... of course there's gonna be issues with it in certain situations. My interest would be in how few (or many) times that happens, in comparison to everything running smoothly.

Im not trying to defend windows 7, but that could have just as easily been an issue with the touch screen.  I didn't see any proof either way.
