That's the card I'm using, and as a single card solution it is verynice at high resolution (1920x1200 and above).

If your upgrading from a older card such as old 8800 GTS 320 MB  it is worth it.

Another good card is ATI 4870, cheaper too.

Just don't trade your holographic charizard or blastoise for it.

Nice, just make sure your PC can handle it (the PSU mainly) before you buy it!

I concur, and if hes buying a card like that hopefully he knows what hes doing, or he simply posted it here for attention purposes.

Cheaper here also, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150309

Newegg is always cheaper than Tiger Direct, and much better customer service.

I wouldn't advise you to get it - for almost 200 dollars more than the 9800 GX2, it gives you the same performance. I'd wait until nvidia or ATI releases a worthwhile high-end card, then go for it.

Heres some cheaper ones, I have the MSI one.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127360

Its a good card, runs no problem doesn't have the microstutter issue like the 9800GX2 or other issues like that.  Also its super easy to OC using the EVGA precision tools (Don't use Nvidia ntune they will kill you card but having the drivers turn off the fan)

My suggestion if your system supports crossfire would be the same as here. Personally I think you're only ripping yourself off if you buy that card you mentioned.

The clear option if you're spending a lot of money on graphics right now, is a pair of 4850's. The only reason not to get those would be if you're playing a lot of Crysis, and nothing else. If you're going to be playing TF2, CoD4, the upcoming L4D, that sort of thing, Crossfired 4850's is the no-brainer. But if you're really into Crysis Wars and don't really play other games, then stick with the GTX.

It's good if you get a stock GTX 280 and then OC it yourself, but since you were going to spend that much on a card then I'd definitely get a 4870X2 instead

seriously, gtx280 is the best card. If you wanna drop near $500 for a graphics card, go for it.
I agree that if you really wanna play crysis on very high - this is the card.
I just got a 4850 and play crysis on high at 1680x1050. Every other game is maxed out and runs beautiful.
but anyways, its up to you.

I don't really see the point of buying super high-end GPU's such as this one, the card I have right now ATI Radeon HD3650 isn't the greatest, but it can play all the latest games.

To each his own I guess.

Well, this one should serve you about two year, without you thinking about an upgrade. SLI and Crossfire solutions may be cheaper, but for some games they are not the bests thing. I would advise to stick to one card solutions.

GTX 280 may be the best single-GPU solution around but when we get to the best single slot solution around it's definitely the 4870X2. Still, I have the 4850s in CrossFire and can vouch for their effectiveness.
