What is the greatest PC franchise?

I nominate the Carmack series, Wolf3d Doom, quake, Doom again etc, you could pretty much call it the same series of games not that they don't make huge evolutionary steps with each new iteration. People base hardware purchases on what this evil genius is going to do next.

I'm a Blizzard fanboy to begin with, so it's basically between their big three franchises for me. Right now, it would be Warcraft (although I don't care for WoW). After Diablo III is released, I could see myself lean towards that. And I love Starcraft, but there's only one of them out right now (not including the expansion).

Personally it's Fallout to me, and I don't count Tactics or FO3 to be a part of that franchise, it ended in FO2 for me.
But with fanboy goggles off I'd prolly say Civilization, they've all been amazing games and at the top of their genre time after time, I never get bored of them and it's already at 4th installment even without exp packs.
