So Peggles great, but I'm getting really stuck towards the end of the game, I'm on world 8. I was wondering whether anybody has any good tips, or whether it is just a game based on luck.

As soon as you launch that ball luck takes over.

A bit of luck will help but to me it really comes down to which character you use since some of them are tailored to their skills. Of course, you might do a bit better with a different character instead. It's been years since I've touched Peggle though.

I think after the second bounce your skill influence has extinguished and lady luck takes over. Even character selection is just a means of swaying the luck a little on your side, but not enough to make anything you do in peggle a sure thing. Usually I stay away from these types of games because that formula usually = trivial game play, but i still enjoy some peggle action. I think it may stem from my love of plinko on the price is right. come on $10,000...

When you have that unicorn's powerup that lets you see where the first bounce goes, Peggle becomes an art. Otherwise, pretty much like pachinko it's basically luck.

There is definitely some amount of skill involved, but a lot of it is going to come down to trail-and-error and luck no matter what.

Yes. Timing, aiming, tactical use of power ups/bonuses/combos and an understanding of trajectories.
