My daily check with Eventhubs greeted me with this.

It seems that the character will act as one, with Koromaru replacing Ken's Persona.

Any thoughts? This is bitter sweet news for me.Ken is a scumbag that no one likes, but Koromaru is radical.

Apparently, Ken will not have his Persona Nemesis and Koromaru will not have his Persona Cerebus. Instead, Ken will work together with Koromaru as one character. Most likely, Ken can summon Koromaru just like a Persona.

This sums up my feelings pretty adequately. I dunno, Ken could be kind of cool to play as, spears are cool. Also curious what he's going to look like.

Well shit. I was expecting Koromaru to be in the game, but not as a half character. Although I guess it wouldn't fit for him to be a character with his own story mode play through, and having a dog character with a dog persona probably isn't the best design choice, so I guess this makes the most sense from a narrative and design perspective.

Characters no longer have individual story modes in P4AU (aside from the standard Arcade mode).

I guess Koromaru fighting alone would have been odd, so they had to pair him up with somebody. But how do you justify Ken and Koromaru both being unable to use their personas?

Didn't realize people didn't like Ken. I thought he was fine. Junpei on the other hand is the worst.

Well if it weren't for Ken, Shinjiro wouldn't have died, so I can understand where a lot of the hate comes from. Shinjiro actually had a lot of depth to his character, especially when you expected him to just be one of those stereotypical cold-but-cool characters. Ken on the other hand has like no presence after he gets Shinjiro killed, plus his shorts are way too damn short.

Also, Junpei's pretty rad.

@random45: I think blaming Ken for it is a bit misplaced. Would you rather they written it that Ken was shot by Takaya and Shinjiro doing nothing? His dealings with Strega were already shady enough, it seemed like an appropriate resolution. Furthermore, the outcome of it ultimately benefited the resolve of Akihiko and Ken.

Also, Junpei is a douchebag.

His shorts are way too short, I'll give you that. You're right about the presence thing, but I guess it just didn't stick out to much as me because I felt like most of the characters didn't have a ton of it.

I need to play through P3P sometime. The writing seemed a lot better in the female campaign and social linking with Junpei was making me warm up to him a little.

Ken is the worst character in Persona 3, hope they do something better with him here.

I'd also have to be informed of the story updates between Persona 3 and Persona 4 Arena as to if losing your persona is a normal thing, since I'm still so far removed from fighting games to want to play one even though I've always been interested in the way the storylines merged (I played the hell out of Persona 3 after gaining a bond with 4 in the Giant Bomb ER).

Why did he wear a short-sleeved tee/tanktop(?) with Valkyrie wings in Persona 3? I guess we can excuse the SEEs armband, because obviously.

That was his Evoker, if I remember correctly. They explain that relatively early.

The collar around his neck was. It almost looks like the wings are attached as a goofy part of the mechanism, but I think they're just decoration?

I'm glad that at least one character is rocking a Gekkokan uniform, even if it has to be Ken, who no one likes and I will only tolerate in this game because it means I can beat him up.
