Over in the Persona 4 Arena fan site, Mayonaka Midnight, someone has provided a download for all the character sprites from the game. I highly suggest you check them out. Its mind blowing how many images it takes to create just one character. You can also get some fantastic images such as this one.

So, if all these sprites are directly ripped from the game....
I guess there isn't a console exclusive character after all, huh? I didn't check, but I'd expect someone would have reported it if there was a 14th character. Bummer.

@mutha3: Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a console exclusive character. The devs were stating that "maybe" there would be one, which I thought translated to "yes", but suppose not (maybe Labrys was meant to be that but they changed their minds).

Shadow Labrys is only playable in the console versions, right?

Wrong. She's been a character in the arcade version of the game for months now.
@mutha3: Huh, I didn't even notice. Original Aigis was a pretty low res model though, so If they put a crack on her it'd be all to noticeable (I'm reminded of Vaan's "abs" in FFXII). Maybe now they can realize their dream of robot butts without being to obvious about it.
Edit: Huh, there are plenty of other sprites that have Aigis facing the other way and there is nothing. I guess it's just those few sprites...

Posting this, now I'm led to wonder why Rise ever wore her school uniform inside the TV world. She never had any weapons or armor to smuggle into the Junes.

@FluxWaveZ: @mutha3: Yeah, I looked through the sprites really quick before I posted and figured that was the case, but I know absolutely nothing about how these games are made so figured I'd ask. Still lame though. It's also lame when every game doesn't have a change in appearance when you change your equipment.

@mutha3: There's Shadow Labrys, Shadow Kanji and Shadow Yu, so that's at least some antagonists and someone threw Labrys into a television in the first place. Though, I am disappointed that this is, like, the only fighting game ever to only have one playable antagonist.

No prob, but you have to realize that expecting this out of a sprite-based game is rather unreasonable. A tremendous amount of effort goes into these highly detailed sprites(I heard Arc Sys takes a full year to make one character or something crazy like that) ...now consider that since these aren't models they can just adjust, swap texture and layer shit on-- they have to make a new sprite. making alternate costumes takes an equal amount of effort as designing a new character from scratch. It just isn't worth the effort.

But she's not much of a character, she's just a shadow. Its not like she has motivations or anything.
@mutha3: Maybe they will introduce the true antagonist at the end of the game and save it for the sequel! Preeeety sure BlazBlue did that so we have some reason to think it could happen. Even if the writers aren't the same you never really know!
