Posted it here, but I guess new news = new thread works (even though it's rather insignificant news). Like I mentioned in that thread, I find it weird how they kept the "MayonakaTV" there.
The inclusion of Mayonaka TV is part of the actual artwork, which was left untouched. The only thing changed was the logo treatment.
Which is why I'm wondering why they didn't touch it. Box art is changed all the time from region to region, so that's why the only thing I can think of in this case for not doing something with the "MayonakaTV" is laziness, or perhaps considered not a worthy allocation of resources. The inclusion of Mayonaka TV is part of the actual artwork, which was left untouched. @Irvandus: But "Mayonaka TV" literally means "Midnight Channel". I'm pretty sure that "Mayonaka" was never used in the English version of Persona 4, so I'm not sure why it's on the box of the English version of P4A.
Technically, it means "Midnight TV"...and it was used in the English version...kinda.
I just meant that "Mayonaka TV" is what's used for "Midnight Channel" in the Japanese version. Forgot about the name of that track, though, but that's ridiculously minor.Technically, it means "Midnight TV"...and it was used in the English version...kinda.

@Irvandus: Right...
It's part of the original artwork, so it's harder to touch up and replace without looking obviously edited.

Played both P3 and P4....but who's that white chick?
New character. She's a robot, just like Aigis.
But they hadn't designed her though, right? I'm not even sure what the Drama CDs are. I haven't finished all of P3 (I played it on PSP).
In [the] Moonlight Drama CD, Aigis was visited by a mysterious girl (in a manner akin to Minato's Pharos). This prompted a flashback about the time of Aigis's creation. In the flashback, a scientist mentioned about a 5th Anti-Shadow weapon model named Labrys, but Labrys herself doesn't make an appearance. The mysterious girl who visited Aigis is not Labrys.

@Animasta said:Neither is Persona 4 Golden, as far as I can tell. Maybe adding "SMT" isn't helping their marketing for the newer Persona games any and they realize that.I find it interesting this isn't branded as Shin Megami Tensei: P4A.
Well it's not like they would know, they haven't released any without it since these two; did P3P have the SMT moniker?
I think looking at the sales disparity between SMT offshoots/main line and Persona tells you enough! I think they add "SMT" to Persona more to help their other SMT titles.@FluxWaveZ said:

She was mentioned by name. Sort of.So... how exactly is Labrys mentioned in the Drama CDs? What is revealed about her?
I've heard people say that she was in one of the drama CDs but I can barely find any information about it.

At this point Persona 4 alone is as big as SMT (in west at least) I mean that's what they're trying to prove, with the all-media blowout of Persona 4 right? (even though we aren't getting the novels/stage plays/branded soft drinks/whatever).

Well SMT3: Nocturne was so long ago, and strange journey is more in common with etrian odyssey in terms of difficulty/niche so I doubt we'll know for sure until SMTIV comes out here.

Yes but you forget:

Raidou clearly should be a DLC character for this game...
The P3 Drama CD is a plot continuation on audio form. I believe Labrys makes an small appearance in the CD.@MikeGosot said:

So I was correct in assuming that the "Mayonaka TV" on the box art was due to them deciding not to allocate resources to it based on a Nich Maragos Atlus post:
It's still the Midnight Channel in game. There are some graphic assets that couldn't be changed (like the cover bit) that will still say "Mayonaka" something-or-other, but that term is never used in the script.
