Hey everyone!

It's April 11, 2014! I just completed my first playthrough of Persona 4 Golden yesterday. When the game is over it gives you the opportunity to play the game again, carrying a few things over from your previous playthough. Since today is April 11, and the game begins on April 11th, I got the crazy idea to play Persona 4 Golden -- ONE DAY AT A TIME, as the game progresses day by day.

Some days will be short, and some days will be longer. I have limited gaming time (I play my PS Vita on my commute to work) so I'm interested to see if I can do this.

Goals for this playthrough are below:

I hope to get the Golden ending with this playthrough, learn to fish properly, and focus on some of the social links I didn't complete -- I only finished Dojima, Chie, Yukiko, Yosuke, Kanji last time.

I just figured out how to screenshot from the Vita, so I'll put a couple of pictures in each blog entry for proof that I'm on the day by day plan. I hope you enjoy this journey as well!

Good luck big bro! I have yet to finish P4. Right now, I just reached Heaven and from what I gather, I still have quite a ways to go. I love the game but man, sometimes grinding really kills it for me. I guess why it has taken me so long is because I will play daily for a week or two then take month long breaks from sheer exhaustion.

@baka_shinji17: Thanks! Grinding can indeed be tough - Hope you can finish the game!

I know a few who tried to do the same exact thing you are doing. Most of them ended up quitting about halfway thought because they felt it was a very boring way to play because some days can only be minutes long depending on how you play.

Playing on very easy or easy makes it so that you don't need to do much combat. I walked past most enemies, only doing the gold hands, red enemies and searching for the quest items and hit level 99 in November. Having played through P4 five times and P3 twice I don't want to play that combat any more, so making the dungeons take 70% less time is a huge relief.

The biggest problem I would have with this strategy is that I try to grind out as much as I can in a single night of dungeoning - a process which can then take many, many hours compared to any other non-dungeon day.

By the way, I expect you to tell Chie, "Falling for me, huh?" and for you to ask her number straight out-- pretty much the best parts of New Game+.

Have yet to finish a second playthrough. I've tried twice but each time I feel like there are other games that need my attention. Good luck duder!

It's not really a game that you should play again right after finishing it the first time. It's more like a game that you should start again 8 months to a year later. It's more fresh that way, and like visiting old friends.

I just wanted to say that "William Rikeru" is a really good name.

Oh god the persona screenshot warfare intensifies.

Bit what are you going to do about days where you can't save in between, and days that fly by (like the exams and midterms) and days that are too long to play in one real time day (dungeons)?

I thought about doing this as well but the way the game handles some days kind of made it doing it a little boring. One day I'd want to play a lot of Persona, but I'm limiting myself to answering two exam questions.

@mosespippy: Yeah that's what I did when I finished it the first time. I found out I got the Bad Ending and decided to start again but stopped after a few weeks. The second time I tried a NG+ was months later, but with the same result. I guess I'll go back once again when Persona 5 launches in Japan.

I considered doing this, but I know I'd just end up playing through several days in game at some point.
