Persona 4 Golden is an update of the critically acclaimed PlayStation 2 role-playing game. New additions and changes have been made exclusively for the PlayStation Vita.
Persona 4 The Golden The Animation starts July 10th
Man, I find it so strange they're making an entirely new animation just for the Vita version. I'm guessing this will be a similar situation to the first Full metal Alchemist and Brotherhood anime. Regardless, no complaining here. I loved the original animation and I'm sure I'll love this.
I wonder, have I reached the threshold of Atlus whoring out Persona 4? (probably not). I'll at least check out the first few episodes.
I wonder if the animation won't be absolute crap this time around, and if the art could be consistently good this time around, that would also be fantastic.
Making an entirely new anime for this is kind of really weird though.
Not sure how to react to this honestly I watched the first persona 4 animation and thought it was alright, nothing really special but felt like a good adaptation of the game. I wonder what possible difference they could add to this new series to call for a remake, maybe make the main character choose a love interest this time? Maybe make it Chie time?
Is this really a completely new anime or is it just an updated version of the old one?
New with Marie and golden scenes.

Gotta milk that persona 4 dry

Don't think you'll need to worry about that since we're talking A-1 Pictures this time around.

Watch it be Rise.
Watch Atlus announce that Rise is canon love interest.
Watch me die inside.
Love interest will be marie just watch.
I think that's pretty plausible actually. When I played the game, it really felt like Marie was the canon love interest. Despite that though I just stayed friends with her because Naoto = best love interest.
Edit: Yeah, I'm getting kind of annoyed by how much Atlus is milking the hell out of Persona 4 as well. Come out with Persona 5 already damnit!
I honestly thought this was a joke when I first heard about it soon after its announcement. But uhh, yeah, I think I might pass on it. Maybe I'll watch it on a whim at some point but, for as much as I love P4, I think all of this P4-related stuff just isn't my thing.
Love interest will be marie just watch.
It's totally gonna be Marie.
You guys underestimate the MC. It'll be ALL OF THEM.

The HARLEM KING
Love the idea of it being NG+.
But honestly, as much as I'm still obsessed with Persona 4, I'm not into it. I think a big part of my disinterest is its focus on Marie. Marie is...not my favorite...

@viciousbearmauling: I will say though, I thought the persistence of the "steeeeeeeaaak" choice in golden was amazing. The implications that that one dialogue choice has on the game is groundbreaking.
I watched about half of the first P4 anime and thought it was pretty soulless. It was like any other shitty remake or adaptation, just hit the points that people who know the source material will want to see and add nothing. None of the scenes felt like they flowed into each other. Every episode just felt like each scene was a skit acting out the most memorable parts of the game and circle wipe to next memorable scene and repeat.
That being said it could have been worse, and if beating the P4 horse to death is what Atlus needs to do to get their new games off the ground then so be it.
I can't wait for the Persona Q and P4: Dancing All Night anime adaptions!
I mean, who in their right mind would say "No" to more Persona 4? A jerk, that's who!
What do we do if Persona 5 is bad, y'guys? Do we still get 5~ years of spin-offs and craziness? The future is scary, bruh.
@flappy: Dont forget the Persona 4 Arena Anime
Any word on a localization for this? I'm too attached to the English voices to watch the anime in Japanese.
If there's any episode one should watch as part of this series, it's episode 6 that just came out. Obviously, P4GA expects the viewer to already be familiar with Persona 4's story in its entirety, which is what gave way to the greatness that is episode 6. This episode single-handedly, to me, justifies the entire existence of this series, even though the episodes before it were generally bad.
Wait, they're literally doing a whole other series? Sweet. I have the old one and will buy this new one as well!
Edit: So apprently the show is actually more of an expansion pack thing for the original anime. It skips most of the stuff that was shown in the original anime and is instead focused on showing Marie and Adachi scenes. Sort of like a new game plus scenario.

I had a couple of friends that tweeted me to watch this specific episode and yeah, it was really good. I never liked any of the P4/G anime series but it was nice to see something that was not a waste of time.
People should go watch this one.
