Dreams/Unconscious states of mind are still a possibility, has Catherine been offically linked to Persona yet besides the appearance of the main character in Persona 3 Portable? The games could run parallel, or Persona 5 could take place before/after the events of Catherine.
 
Or, they could be totally unrelated but share the dreaming theme.

Digital Devil Saga is set in the Junkyard, a vast, post-apocalyptic wasteland in which it is constantly raining. Ouch. Be aware that game is tough as nails. I'd recommend keeping that one as last, unless you thought Persona was easy. "

Persona 4 was fairly easy (on Normal) as well as Persona 3 FES (although a bit tougher on the same difficulty).

My idea would be a garbage dump where the main characters go to. When they get there they can enter different items that can transport them to different worlds like say a TV to P4 TV land, a radio to radio land, a old computer to the INTERNET land, and so on.

I say the next Persona game has something to do with music.The final boss is the leader sing from ICP.

What about if the game revolves around people's shadows (as in normal, everyday shadows, rather than evil doppelganger-like shadows)? There could be a mirror world where everybody's shadow resides, and only the new team of characters know about it. The shadows could have features like we do, but we only ever see them as a silhouette because it's a parallel world (just like we'd be a silhouette to them). Maybe the team have to switch places with their shadows to enter the alternate world, and they must accomplish a goal in a certain period of time to stop their shadows from being given control and replacing them in their world. The party would be able to flip back and forth between the two worlds whenever they want, just so the player can interact with social links etc.

 I dunno. Atlus usually thinks up something completely crazy that we'll probably never guess in a million years. That was my best shot, but it probably sounds terrible lol!

There will be a tower at some point and we will have to climb it. Most the SMT games have a tower in them somewhere. Perhaps it will be a tower that is actually made up of all the dreams of all the people on Earth. And every time you go up higher you are actually going deeper and deeper into the dream world. Sort of like Inception, only when I say it is sort of like it I mean it is exactly like it.

What if they unveil P5 at the big live live show: live?? that would be pretty cool 
  
They could have it take place in a alternate world, so the dungeons are places like a school or a department store that you can visit during the day time, maybe to find locations of hidden treasure or something cool like that

Na Jeff and Vinny would appear as the final bosses who cackle about bitches before transforming into some kind of gaming amalgamation along with Brad and Ryan. In a Power Rangers type way. Vinny would have loads of cameras coming out of him. Jeff would have loads of speakers and beatbox people to death. Brad would be part Terran with slimy Zerg stuff around him. And Ryan stands in the background manipulating events with....strings or something. "

Internet seems kind of close to TV but it really does make the most sense. I could also see cell phones or something. Handhelds like in Devil Survivor.
