So we know something will be revealed on the 24th of November. If you're optimistic and think it's an unveiling of Persona 5, then we can make an "educated" guess as to what the Japanese release date will be. Persona 3 was unveiled in March 2006 in the Famitsu Magizine. Persona 4 was unveiled in March 2008 in the Famitsu Magazine. Persona 3 released July of that year and Persona 4 released December of that year.

I'd hope for late 2014, myself. Though at this point I'd settle for an official announcement of any kind, regardless of date.

It'll just be the announcement for Persona 3 The Movie part 2, the prior part of which comes out the previous day on the 23rd.

For an analogous reference, approximately 65% of Giant Bomb users have been incorrect when it came to guessing Persona 5's announcement date.

I really don't see what'd be so bad about a handheld P5. P4 Golden worked out fine. As did SMT IV.

I'd buy any system they want me to if it lets me play P5.

If the 24th November really is a Persona 5 announcement than my guess would be April to may 2014 in Japan end of 2014 in the west. The last time P4 was announced when it was already 80% done so I expect the same here^^

Platform most likely and hopefully PS3 don't think 360 would be profitable even in the west.

I can't speak for everyone, but I sure as hell don't want to have to buy a new system for a single game (and I would definitely cave and buy a Vita or 3DS if P5 was an exclusive, despite not wanting either of those systems.)

Shocking twist of events P5 will be a WII U exclusive!!.......... Seriously around 2015 on PS3 , 360 , 3ds and vita. Its one of atlus`s biggest franchise. So they will be going big.

A 3DS/Vita + game is cheaper than a PS3 anyways. So it's a win-win situation for me.

I'd say there's a decent chance it comes out on 360, but if you're forced to get a PS3 it's much better than being forced to get a Vita. There's so many amazing PS3 exclusives you'd then have the opportunity to get (most of which would probably be really cheap by that point). Also keep in my mind that if we're talking mid to late 2014 the PS3 will have almost certainly dropped significantly in price (being post PS4 launch and all).

but the quality would be way worse than it could be especially if it comes out on a 3DS. I really want a great game including 5.1 sound awesome anime cutscenes in 1080P and maybe even dual voicees.

A PS3 game is more likely, though. I just don't think a handheld Persona is such a bad thing.

I'm going to guess it'll be a PS3/360 release (leveraging the work done on Catherine) in August 2014. I'd prefer to see it on a PS4 or Vita, but that seems unlikely unless P5 development started far later than most people have speculated and the release date is more in the 2015/2016 range.
