Persona 5 isn't coming out until sometime in the "winter" of 2014 in Japan, but it'll eventually leave there, too. Atlus has announced Persona 5 is also coming to North America in 2015.

(That gives me plenty of time to finally play Persona 4 Golden on my Vita!)

Right now, Persona 5 is only scheduled for a release on PlayStation 3. A version for PlayStation 4 with Remote Play sure would be nice, though!

Atlus also confirmed the other recently announced Persona games--Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona 4: Dancing All Night--are coming over, as well. The update to Persona's fighting spin-off arrives this fall, while the series' introduction to rhythm is next year.

Atlus, you're just another brick in the wall.

EDIT: I kid.

Sweet! Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth was confirmed for localization, too.

#6 Posted by hollitz (1631 posts) -

I bought a 3DS the day after Persona Q was announced for Japan.

Ah ha! Is this our chance?

#8 Posted by Phatmac (5730 posts) -

Don't forget that the 3DS game Persona Q is coming in fall.

PERSONA!

Can't wait to see more from P5. Will be picking up all the other Persona games in the meantime as well (including Persona Q)!

#11 Edited by LazerJoe (2 posts) -

Worth mentioning that Ultimax is coming to both the PS3 and 360 over here, as opposed to the PS3 only Japanese release.

#12 Posted by Daveyo520 (7009 posts) -

I wish the 3DS one would come too. Also that P5 would get on the 360 as well.

#13 Posted by Olqavtoras (233 posts) -

Now I just have to wait for word on a european release.

#14 Edited by Zeeco (102 posts) -

@daveyo520: Persona Q was confirmed for Fall 2014 release in North America. I wouldn't be too surprised if 5 came to the 360, either.

#15 Posted by Nags (124 posts) -

Too bad a real Persona game will never come to a Nintendo console. If you want to play through those, Playstation is where it's at ;)

#16 Posted by Sessh (1069 posts) -

I'm just so glad they always split these announcements up. Why bother with the European market/fans anyway?

#17 Edited by TheManWithNoPlan (6012 posts) -

Thank God! I think we all knew it was coming here, but still... sega.

Happy to hear they're all making it over, especially Q. I'm hoping Persona 5 will be out at least in the first half of 2015, judging by the separation between the Japanese and American release dates of P4

#20 Edited by natedagr811 (22 posts) -

@patrickklepek You should also add that the 3DS cross-over game, Persona Q, is also coming stateside as well.

#21 Edited by Kscorps (55 posts) -

Pretty stoked, especially for Persona Q, since that might get here a little sooner.

Still gotta play Digital Devil Saga 2!

#22 Posted by pyrodactyl (2364 posts) -

Yeah, a streaming version for PS4 so I can get to 4 times my data cap for the month on that alone. We paid an overcharge of $150 last month mostly because I watched to much Giantbomb in HD and that wasn't even twice the limit of 120Gb.

@zeeco: I doubt 5 will come to 360. Ultimax is coming because the engine already exists since it is basically an upgrade of P4A and can easily be ported over. 5 is using a brand new engine.

This one better not have stupid region-locking.

I hope I can shoot myself in the head in this one.

Really bummed out about P5 not being in 360. I'd rather not have to buy a PS3 in friggin' 2015.

Definitely getting the Vita game, and probably the 3DS one.

@alwaysbebombing: More like we have to endure until 2015! amiright!? eh! eh!

Now I kind of worry about will it live up to the hype...

Hmm... are white people keeping Japanese slaves in Persona 5 too?

Has Patrick even ever played a Persona game?

#42 Posted by Dizzyhippos (1575 posts) -

@patrickklepek Not to be super picky but shouldn't this be filed under persona 5 or the persona franchise page instead of persona 4?

#43 Posted by Crommi (63 posts) -

So.... 2016 for Europe? My PS3 is still waiting to fulfill it's purpose before it can be laid to rest.

@alwaysbebombing: More like we have to endure until 2015! amiright!? eh! eh!

I'm not.

It's been worked on since at least 2011 (so it's not a quick cash grab) and Atlus knows persona is it's most profitable series so I'd imagine they would want to be as mindful of the quality as possible since you won't really make a lot on remakes/anime/spin-offs if nobody liked the first game.

#45 Edited by Pilzi (47 posts) -

Thank god P4D is coming over. Also, as I had predicted no 360 version.

I will probably just import it from the US. I don't want to wait for however long it takes to get it to Europe.

#46 Posted by Viking_Funeral (1917 posts) -

I swear on all that is holy, if Atlus region locks this game like they did with the fighting game... I will leave several aggressive notes with occasional begging online where Atlus will likely never look.
