Well, of course the existence of a Persona 5 is inevitable, and it was pretty much expected as it being a PS3 game.  The only real question is: when will it be released?  I'm expecting a 2010 release and it being officially announced in 2009.  There was a couple of years seperating the release dates of Persona 3 and Persona 4 and therefore that would be in line with the trend.

I hope this is not fake. I want Persona 5 as soon as possible !

I'd like a PS3 or 360 release over a Wii one basically because it would be graphically prettier, however, I am inclined to think that Atlus would rather put it on the Wii because of the install basis and because it would be cheaper to develop.  Either that or the PSP which is popular in Japan and was the system that the recent Persona (1 remake) appears.

Maybe with TGS, we'll get some hard facts to replace all the fan-dreamed up rumors and conjecture.

Or maybe this is all about a Shin Megami Tensei: Persona pachinko game that will hit game parlors this fall.

im guessing its going to be a ps3, ps2, or wii game. i don't think it will be a 360 because its mainly Japanese title but you never know (like star ocean 4). i would prefer it to be a ps3 title. i doubt its going to be a multiplatform title because i doubt atlus has enough $ to do it and if it is it would probable be ps2+ ____

Even if this is true, the era of real (permanent) exclusives is dead.

What appears to be an accidental announcement from a pachinko industry publication holds that “a consumer announcement of PS3 exclusive Persona 5 is scheduled.”

The mention is slipped in with the industry announcement surrounding a Megami Tensei themed pachinko machine, so it seems unlikely to be an outright fabrication, though of course it could be genuinely mistaken, and it will almost certainly turn out to be “mistaken” and quietly excised.

Still, that the new Persona game will be initially released on the PS3 seems virtually a given considering the platform history of the Megami Tensei series, so this news is none too shocking, though certainly timely after the disappointing lack of a next generation Persona 4.

If P5 is exclusive, it won't be because they wanted to. It'll be because they needed to. I'm pretty sure those guys aren't at a budget where they can say, "Hey let's spend money on as many systems as possible!"

I don't buy this for a second, mostly because the rumors for a while have been that Persona is going to hibernate for a while because Atlus R&D is going to work on SMT4.

I would be be happy if it is exclusive because that would just be one more great game added to the PS3 camp, but I wouldn't mind if it came out on the 360 either since I own both consoles and could play it either way.

Well the best thing we can hope for is that it'll come out soon. I don't really care if it came out on both consoles I just want the game. However, they never really made any good games on the 360 or the old xbox

They'd better, because I really think the Persona series needs a break. I'm getting tired of all these sites throwing out Persona 5 speculation to get page views. After releasing four Persona games over the course of three years, I would think Atlus would want to give it a break too."
