Thin, it's better for his health.

He made LOTR while fat, he made King Kong while skinny. King Kong was obviously the worse movie and by all accounts, LOTR was really good. That's really it. Plus, he looked more . . . jolly when he was fat, now he looks like he will be taking a pair of COD4: 2 nightvision and peeking through my window; in other words, he looks kinda creppy.

I mirror your thoughts to the exact detail.

He's made 4 of the most boring, bloated, self indulgent wastes of time ever commited to film.

I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy personally, King Kong was fairly boring I'll agree.

he was cool and happy lookin fat, skinny he looks like a nervous wreck.

also, King Kong was a brilliant film that was in desperate need of serious editiing to cut it down about an hour and cut to the island way sooner and skip through that drawn out ice skating part.

That's like every film he's made. I can't see why the Lord of the Rings films can't be around 90 minutes. Remove the boring battles and superfluous stock characters and it'd be so much better, or at least tolerable.

But High School Musical is the greatest film ever made

I have been told by many, many people I look like Peter Jackson in his, uh, chunkier days.  Faaaantastic.

Yep, worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Obviously he's not qualified to be a director.

Dunno what you guys are moaning about, it only took me 20 minutes to watch King Kong: DVD in, Chapter select, Dudes fight Giant Monkey, Monkney Dies (sorry, spoilers), DVD eject, Throw DVD away, job done!

He looks slightly retarded in his fat form and looks like a hobbit in his skinny form. So........both?

#18 Posted by deskp (400 posts) - 3 years, 9 months ago

I tried watching those movies. Lord of the Rings and Bladerunner are the only movies I've fell asleep to.

@HandsomeDead:  It is not that he is bad director, you probably just don't like that kind of movie. I personally think the Harry Potthead movies that everyone is so enthralled with are crap. It is not that they are bad movies, its just not my thing; I can't immerse myself in the fiction.
#22 Posted by LeetBalla (693 posts) - 3 years, 9 months ago
@CowMuffins: Bladerunner was directed by Ridely Scott, and it's the best movie ever. You fail. lol.

I didn't say it was directed by Peter Jackson, I was saying that those two movie(s) are boring and are the only two I've fallen asleep watching. You fail.

I'm not a fan of Harry Potter either but I think they both fall into the same category: Too much emphasis on special effects rather than developing plot.

I did not say you are a fan, I just said it is not your thing. It does not mean you have trash everything that you don't like to make yourself feel better about your own taste in movies.

You need to calm down little guy, the way that the sentence was worded made it unclear and seemed to indicate that you believed Peter Jackson directed Bladerunner; PeasforFees also seemed to believe the same as I. Sorry to step on your oh so fragile toes.

P.S. The whole "You fail" thing was a joke, as indicated by the internet standard for laughter, "lol".

Thin, because he was thin back in the Bad Taste and Braindead (or Dead Alive as Americans called it) days.

#30 Posted by Vinchenzo (6184 posts) - 3 years, 9 months ago

I think everyone would be fine with his "thin" appearance if he just got a fucking haircut to compliment the change.

I think you're confusing having a negative opinion and voicing it as opinion with having any opinion at all and vociing it as fact, much like Tarsler did.

LOTR & BAD TASTE ARE SOOPER DOOOPER. ORCS AND 'SPLODIN' SHEEP ARE VERY GOOD THINGS. THEY MAKE ME EXCITE.

Yeah, can't beat a bit of middle earth. Watched all three extended editions, including credits, back to back while eating 2-foot long sandwiches and ice cream.

It was the best day.

Oh and I go for skinny Peter 'cause that dude was FAT. He done a good job losing that much weight.

Fat secks is hawt.

Seriously, he looked happier when he was fat.

#35 Posted by giftedgrrl (1 posts) - 1 year, 3 months ago

lord of the rings was AMAZING!!!! and he did make it fat and most of the films he made when he was skinny i didn't even bother watching all the way through. i also think he looks a bit creepy when he's skinny, almost like i wouldn't want to be left in a room with him... fat people always look so like trust worthy like santa clause. i don't know if the hobbit will suck or not. i hope not but if it does suck then were going to have to force feed him Big Macs till he explodes (not a treat just an observation)

I choose the invisible option: Who cares?

#37 Posted by Brendan (6738 posts) - 1 year, 3 months ago

Who in their right mind would openly prefer him to be in worse health?

Well, I suppose unless you hate his movies so much you wish a quick death upon him, but other than that, pretty dumb thread.

I actually find it sort of interesting. I'm guessing it's a purely aesthetic choice for most people, and people prefer how he looked with some extra pounds. Much like many people prefer how a woman looks thin, but they don't care if she's starving, depriving her body of nutrients to keep up that appearance. Equality!

One hell of a thread necro up in here.

I prefer Peter Jackson whatever size he was when he produced District 9, because goddamn.
