Evolution

Pichu evolves into Pikachu only after it has gained enough happiness with the trainer who hopes to evolve it. Happiness can be gained by giving Pichu items, by walking with Pichu at the head of the party or by using Pichu in battle.

Type

Electric-type

Electric type pokemon are supereffective against water type pokemon and ineffective against ground.

Description

Pichu is not yet skilled at storing electricity, it charges itself with electricity more easily on days with thunderclouds or when the air is dry. When it's startled, it discharges power accidentally, and despite it's small size, it can zap even adult humans. You can hear the crackling of static electricity coming off this Pokemon. When it plays with others, it may short out electricity with another Pichu, creating a shower of sparks. In that event, this Pokemon will begin crying, startled by the flash.
