As we all know, pistols are the best part about a shooting game. I mean, it's usually the first firearm you get in a game, and most of them are viable all the way to the end of your gameplay time. So the question here is, what is the most famous pistol ever? Let's find a DEFINITIVE pistol.

I think the following three are top contenders:

Desert Eagle .50

Halo 1 pistol

Plasma Cutter from Dead Space

I know that Dead Space is pretty recent, but man...it's a unique one!

Yeah but the golden gun is actually Goldfinger's, not James Bond's. It also only appears once in the movies, whereas the PP7 is in every 007 movie and game.

Wrong. The Golden Gun is used by Francisco Scaramanga.

Oh the Halo 1 pistol....like three shots to kill someone, and a scope? You had to be good with it though.....

Then you had the plasma pistol, battle rifle combo in Halo 2.....

Hard to say, the Desert Eagle gets a lot of showtime because it's big and flashy. Bond's PP7 is pretty obvious... there's always Dirty Harry's .44 Magnum revolver.

I was mostly thinking in video game terms, as this is in the General Discussion forum and not Off-Topic...but I do think that if we were going overall most famous...Dirty Harry's magnum beats everything.
