In Ratchet & Clank, Veldin is featured as the home planet of Ratchet, who lives there in a small shack which also acts as his workshop. It is also the place where he first encounters Clank, who crashes not too far from where Ratchet was working. As the story progressed, they find out that Chairman Drek planned on destroying Veldin, in order to create a new world for his people. After defeating Drek, Ratchet and Clank are shown returning to Veldin, where they lived until their next adventure.
In Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, they are shown still to be living in Veldin while conducting an interview with Behind the Hero. However, the planet is not featured for a long space of time, as they are required to deal with an incident in the Bogon Galaxy.
In Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, again Veldin is under threat, this time from invading Tyhrranoid forces. Ratchet and Clank return, and fight with the Galactic Rangers to remove the army. As the story continues, they find out that Dr. Nefarious plans on turning Veldin's population into robots using a Biobliterator. The pair rescued the planet before Nefarious could initiate the process, preventing the extermination of all organic life.
Though the planet isn't visited in Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, it is revealed that Ratchet was sent there by his father when he was a baby, to save him from Tachyon's plan to kill all Lombaxes.
There hasn't been any recent activity for this object.

Planet Veldin is the birth place of Ratchet and adopted home of Clank, which was almost destroyed by Chariman Drek in the original game.
