    Plants vs Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is a strategy game by PopCap games. You are in charge of defending your house by placing plants and mushrooms on your lawn to defend against the zombies that are walking towards you.

The game makes you get Sun Points to gain the ability to plant plants. Sun points can either be received by from the sky in the daytime or from plants that you have placed in the ground. 100 sun points will get you a shooter, 50 sun points will get you a sunflower and each different plant has it's assigned price. But of course nothing would be fun without the absurdity of the zombies.

First you have the normal zombie. Walks, eats your plants/brains etc. Then they come with such glorious hats as a road cone or a bucket. Watch out though because these hats give them more armor. Then you have the pole vaulters that jump over the first flower/road block you have setup. I wont spoil all of the zombies but they are varied and absolutely hilarious.

There isn't really much to the game. You play through the adventure mode unlocking more plants/zombies. However that does not mean that it isn't fun. I find myself playing this all the time. The game is a total blast and completely worth the $9.99 price tag on it. If your looking for a fun game to kill time that you don't have to invest much to get into, I highly suggest Plants vs Zombies.

That being said, PopCap Games is not your traditional tower defense developer, and it shows. Plants vs. Zombies is a surprisingly fresh take on the genre, and is a fun, lighthearted game that should be enjoyed by both "casual" and "hardcore" gamers alike.  What Plants vs. Zombies shares with tower defense games is its basic structure. That is, your primar...

Plants vs. Zombies reintroduces the tower defense genre by incorporating a hordes of zombies against the defense of plants. However does it succeed in its attempt to make a niche genre accessible for everyone? The massive horde of the undead looks to be the dominant theme as of late in video games but none of them are as hilarious as the ones in Plants vs. Zombies. The prominent mode of the game is undoubtedly the Adventure, or the story. However the addition of Puzzle, Minigame, Survival, and ...
