A Very well designed game that, above all is great fun!

Plants Vs Zombies is Popcap games latest take on the tower defence genre, in which you play a gardener who must defend his home from a lovable horde of zombies.
The game retains standard tower defence elements such as timed waves and varied enemy types but PVZ takes these elements and does them in style.
All plants cost Solar Power which will drop from the sky during the day but can also be produced by certain plants, you can spend your solar power on over 40 different plants that are unlocked as the game goes on, however you can only take a limited amount of plants into each stage so you must choose carefully.

The game features excellent 2D models and enviroments that allow you to defend your lawn from a Huge number of different zombies ranging from Micheal Jackson zombies to Zombie Bobsled teams.
These very stylised enviroments are coupled with an Excellent soundtrack that will keep you from ever getting tired of the game.

Unlike many tower defence or casual games, Plants Vs Zombies features more than jsut a single player mode, it also features about 20 or so minigames another 20 or so puzzle levels such as I-ZOMBIE which puts you in control of the zombies.
The game also features several survival modes and a unique feature called the Zen Garden which allows you to effectively grow your own money tree's which can be used to purchase new plants or features in the games store.

Plants Vs Zombies really is just plain fun, it refines the tower defence formula to its basics for the casuals but adds hilarious style and depth for more hardcore players, however the greatest thing that Popcap has achieved in PVZ is that they have created a game in which everyone is able to create their own playstyle and stratagy to make their way through the game.

I've never really liked traditional tower defense games. I've always felt like they lack focus and variety, two components I like in my games. That being said, PopCap Games is not your traditional tower defense developer, and it shows. Plants vs. Zombies is a surprisingly fresh take on the genre, and is a fun, lighthearted game that should be enjoyed by both "casual" and "hardcore" gamers alike.  What Plants vs. Zombies shares with tower defense games is its basic structure. That is, your primar...

Plants vs. Zombies reintroduces the tower defense genre by incorporating a hordes of zombies against the defense of plants. However does it succeed in its attempt to make a niche genre accessible for everyone? The massive horde of the undead looks to be the dominant theme as of late in video games but none of them are as hilarious as the ones in Plants vs. Zombies. The prominent mode of the game is undoubtedly the Adventure, or the story. However the addition of Puzzle, Minigame, Survival, and ...
