    Printed on October 22, 2077 in Sunnyvale, CA, The Platinum Chip is actually a data storage device holding information critical to upgrading the operating system on Mr. House's securitron robots to Mark II, giving them full control of their weapons systems. Initially, The Courier's job was to deliver the chip to the Lucky 38 casino, but things change when the platinum chip is taken from him/her with deadly force.
     
    The Platinum Chip is central to choosing who The Courier will side with as he/she makes his/her way down the plot of Fallout: New Vegas.
