I finally connected my PS2 to my computer monitor using a converter, a HDMI splitter and a couple of cables. Now that my PS2 is readily available to play again and with a large library of games that are once again useful, I find myself going to it plenty of times.
Has anyone found themselves still rockin' the PS2?
What about other older consoles?

Sony's PlayStation 2 is the second home video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated, and to date is the best-selling home console of all time, with an install base of 150 million units since its launch.
Anyone still playing games on the Playstation 2?
I'm sure many people are still playing their PS2. They're still selling a ton of them, and I don't think people are just buying them for the hell of it.
I have one, but only have a few games left for it. I could be playing God of War right now, but... nah.
I am goofing around with Persona 3. I don't think I will ever finish it. But, about once a week I will turn it on and kick it for a while.
It's become a yearly thing that during the summer drought I play a bunch of PS2 games, though sometimes I get an urge or I find a good game to play while perusing the local EB Games. As a matter of fact I found a copy of Okami in almost perfect condition for $15 last week and have been playing through that. Haven't played it since I rented it when it first came out. I also found Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland for $5 but it was a little mangled looking and I already bought Back to Nature off of PSN a few days prior.
Sorry I got a little off topic there. To answer your question my PS2 is always hooked up and ready to go.
Yep, my favourite console. The library is huge and the amount of games that interest me I still haven't scratched the surface on.
This does have the added disadvantage of me buying up a bunch of games at once for fear rarity will end up driving the price if I leave it too long. One of the reasons I have a fairy significant stack of unplayed games.
i've made a promise to myself that i will finish all of my PS2 games i need to beat over the summer.
Duude have fun ;) I played that game with my cousin for the first time about a year ago - we completed it in one sitting. It's so unbelievable, what they did with a PS2 and in general the feelings you get towards what you do to the Colossi, and the awe inspiring nature of themselves is fantastic. Probably the best game I've ever played." I am. I finished DMC 3 a couple of weeks ago and I'm probably going to play Shadow of the Colossus for the first time today. "
Also, having never personally owned a PS2 there are an absolute ton of amazing games I could play on it. I also tried Sniper Elite around the same time, and really would like to give a Persona a go sometime. Ah well, got too much to play at the moment anyway!
I have a couple of games like Shadow of the Colossus and the devil may cry series on hold that I plan on finishing in the summer.
I still play on my PS2 a little bit, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Shadow Hearts: Covenant being the most recent exploits.
If you're still not into by that point, I don't know how'd you even manage to make it that far. The story definitely picks up but there is a noticeable lull in the middle. If you don't like the overall vibe of the game there is nothing coming up that is going to change your opinion on it though." @Godot: Don't worryy, working my waay through persona 3 atm, but finding it hard to kepp up the the pace after 45 hours - wondering if it will get better soon. " My friend recently went through P4, but the douche refuses to let me borrow it. He knows who he is. "Surely that's the kind of game you want to give to people to play?
Have S-Links taught them no life lessons!
" and it's fun to go back to a generation before CoD4 happened. "yeah.. the pre-MW era.. i need to play more old games.
I hate the fact my PS3 doesn't play PS2 games. I still need to play FF XII. And I always want to pop in Twisted Metal: Black every now and then but can't be bothered to hook it up.
" @Azteck said:Exactly!!! Maybe I have to duke it out with him like Brosuke and Charlie did before I can borrow his PS2." My friend recently went through P4, but the douche refuses to let me borrow it. He knows who he is. "Surely that's the kind of game you want to give to people to play? It's actually all I've been playing and purchasing games for lately. Most of the games are so cheap and easy to find these days, that my collection has ballooned to almost eighty games, about half of which I haven't even started, let alone beaten. Hell, I just finished kill.switch. Not because it's a great game (it really isn't), but because it was a measly three bucks. Why the hell not?
Mostly I'm working my way through Dragon Quest 8 and SMT: Nocturne. I think my 360 is getting a bit lonely.
I'm making my way through Okami, I've also got FFXII, FES, and P4 to beat. Kind of thinking about going back to the Jak games, since its been so long since I've played them.
I recently played through Kingdom Hearts 2. I thought about getting Okami since that looks really neat. There are plenty of great PS2 games that I've never gotten to play, so I think I'll be playing it for a while longer.
I haven't really touched the system since I beat Persona 4. Been meaning to go back and finally finish Final Fantasy 12 for awhile now though.
I actually have mine setup right next to my Xbox. Relatively recently my friend let me borrow the Devil May Cry series since I never played them, so I beat the first one and started the second one. So yeah I would say I still play it, I loved that system man. I also finished Persona 3 kinda recently too since I never got to finish that when I originally bought it..
I have mine hooked up. Haven't played anything in a little while, but there are a few things that don't run on the PS3 so I've got it for those.
My PS2 is at my parents house and when I go over there for breaks I don't take my PS3 so I'll play that there. But my PS3 is backwards compatible so if I ever get the urge I can play a PS2 game if I want.
