    I'm looking for a good long turn-based RPG for the PS2. Not the Final Fantasy series or the Persona series. Does anyone know of any?

    Dragon Quest VIII.  Easily the best turn based RPG on PS2 in my opinion.

    I'm not entirely familiar with the PS2s library (i'm in the market myself) but aren't Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden both turn based?

    Valkyrie Profile is one of those "not really turn-based, not really real-time" games.  I don't know about Suikoden.  I'm pretty sure Shadow Hearts games are turn-based.  I hear good things about those.

    Suikoden III or V are pretty good choices.  Skip Suikoden IV like the plague, though.
