The PS2 was an inferior system so it could not possibly be blamed for the Demise of the Dreamcast. 3 things killed the Dreamcast IMO
1. EA being a bunch of dicks 2. Sonys wallet allowed them to market and advertise the PS2 at a level Sega could never compete with. plus they lied through their fucking teeth when they unveiled the PS2 at E3 3. The Saturn. simply put if that Saturn had sold more EA probably would have supported the dreamcast and Sega would have had the cash to fight the war with sony
PS2 is probably the greatest console ever made in terms of game library Honestly after seeing what Sega has done to itself (Werehogs people) over time, maybe its for the best that they lost the console war

Please stop, before I unleash a leviathan that is the PS2 library. The only thing the PS2 was inferior to the Dreamcast in was shit, because the Dreamcast failed, horribly. Even though I liked some of the games on the Dreamcast, and would love for SEGA to come back...

He probably means in terms of hardware, and early PS2 had severe issues.
Alright, I will easily agree that the PS2 probably had the worst hardware of the four (in terms of reliability, and graphically). Although I only ran into one problem, and that was 2-3 years after I bought the thing, still runs like a charm.

anyway, PS2 was great for it's awesome list of games, but the dreamcast was more innovative.
