Timesplitters Future Perfect is alot of fun, especially if you can get 4 player splitscreen going.

There should be more votes for Onimusha 1, 2, and 3.  Leave Dawn of Dreams alone though.  If you don't mind reading a lot of text Okami is fun to.  GTA: San Andreas, God of War, Devil May Cry(1st one is the best 3 is the hardest), Ratchet & Clank games, Burnout 3, you have a ton of choices; the PS2 has over a thousand games for it now.

While I'll agree that Onimusha 3 was good fun to play, and a worthy recommendation, the story and voice acting were certainly sub-par for me. The voice work is certainly not as bad as that heard in the first game, but it's still a bit wobbly. The decision to have Jean Reno's English-speaking parts handled by an actor who isn't Jean Reno still baffles me.

What genre of games are you interested in? PS2 has such a huge library of games that one can create a top 10 list in every category.

Since you became enamored with playing ps2 games after watching persona 4, I imagine you might be interested in RPGs. If you I can recommend a few good ones.

This game has a very addictive battle system and contains one of the more unique storyline filled with genuine humor and substance to come from Japanese catalogue of role playing games in quite some time. It is a sequel to Shadow hearts RPG but you don't really need to go play the original game in order to enjoy this sequel. The original was also much darker and devoid of most of the humor that was present in this sequel.

A completely new storyline but with the same sense of humor as shadow hearts covenant. The story here isn't as heartwarming as covenant but it's still a really good game to play through.

One of the spinoff to come out of shin megami series, this set of rpgs contain a rather dark storyline and a really addictive battle system. Very easy to pick up and play.

If you want epic storylines in you RPG's, this is it. In my opinion this trilogy of games represent the best RPG experience on PS2. This trilogy contains cutscenes that rival the length of mgs 4 and has a thoughtful story to tell is one is willing to listen carefully. Xenosaga I would be a little difficult to get into because it has not aged gracefully, but if you can overlook that negative point, you will be able to enjoy a legitimately deep storyline that spans three games. The battle system in this trilogy is a little difficult so I would not recommend playing this series first if you are not used to playing RPG's. But if you are used to playing these types of games then definitely dive into this series as soon as possible.
