its kind of funny because my most anticipated game of 08 is Littlebigplanet, but I thought that Mercs 2 had the best showing at E3 08... that being said, i totally saw LBP as best game of show last year...
It builds on the foundation of the old Prince of Persia, and those games where excellent. If you haven't experienced the game, then I cannot convince you. My recommendation, go and buy the old trilogy.

i think mercenaries 2 looks a little crappy. big let down on the graphics. and i think the new Red Faction game looks sick and seriously overlooked. the destruction look like the best i've ever seen.

Are you joking...? The new art style is a much harder style to render and make it look good. They could just have done something normal, but they opted to go for this awesome "illustrated" look. Honestly, go watch the E3 walkthrough on Gametrilers!
If you SERIOUSLY think that this rendering style is HARDER, then lol. It is far more easy for them to do this style then, an Assassins Creed style, for example. You know they could have mixed AC realistic graphics with the art style/painted visuals of this one, but that would have required too much work and time, therefore they didn't do it. They needed to get a PoP game out asap, AC was just a new version of PoP so people wouldn't get tired of it, now that AC is gone/passed, PoP can come in the light. basicaly...

Not really... You would be right if POP was only cell shaded or something, but it's not. It has a ton of little details that make it an extremely hard game to create visually. You just don't appreciate the art style methinks.

Nah I appreciate it, but this is DEFINITELY the easier way out, they could have done this on PS2 and had it look mildly similar. What REALLY would have been amazing and revolutionary is this 'draw-on' art style combined with real 3D HD graphics like Assassins Creed.. but this is really a lazy way IMO. Just like SF4, they could have done so much more with that art style, but suddenly its acceptable since this is there first 3D game.

Trust me... as someone who knows what he is talking about, the art style isn't easy.
Who said it was EASY? It sure is easier then doing this art style with real next-gen graphics, not that these aren't real nect gen graphics but you know what I mean. This is way less time consuming and thats a fact. I was just hoping for a more true PoP sequel but i guess that's just me.

Now I love AC, but they reused a lot of their building structures which is why it cut down on the time it took to make the game. Prince of Persia isn't reusing all of its models, from what I've seen. Everything looks unique.

It's of note that I'd place Resistance 2 in a few of these categories over Killzone 2, but it's hard to do that when Guerrilla has polished the parts of their game that they're showing so heavily. Resistance 2 looks spectacular, but because of Insomniac's tight schedule, they just haven't had time to perfect slices beforehand. I don't mind, however, because I know the game's going to be incredible when it comes out.
