I know the chances of this happening are second to none, but I would really like to see Sony trim even more fat from its console and call it the PSthree, a callback to the PSone. Maybe even design it to be similar to its predecessor. They could take out the power supply form the inside and exteriorize it, reducing weight and size considerably. It would certainly help clean up their image which was tarnished a bit recently, and they could cut production costs and bring down the price. I know it's a real long shot, but how cool would this be?

Nah, the slim is fine.

I enjoy my PS3 Slim. It doesn't take up too much space and it works.

I still do not have a slim. Mine is an original 60GB SKU. I am going to wait until after Sony's press conference to buy one though. I want them to confirm the coming of the white PS3 slim to North America, as I want one badly. However, should they announce an even slimmer PSthree... I would be ecstatic.

What? It would be hella cool! Admit it. I know it's not going to happen, but you guys have to admit it would be pretty badass if we'd get that.

The box like design of the PS2 or the 90's looking PSone would not be a cool looking PS3. "Exteriorizing" the power supply would give us a huge ass power brick which isn't the way of the future. Redesigning the PS3 would not help Sony's image at all. It really just seems pointless.

To be fair, Sony's image has nowhere to go but up at this point.

I highly doubt it, their focus right now is software and the NGP, and then most likely the PS4. I don't think another redesign would be necessary.

We really don't need one. The Slim looks great, in my opinion.

Having said that, I have a fat 80gb model at the moment, so if they did redesign it, and it happened to look better than the slim, I would probably buy one.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking exactly. Seeing as they did not announce anything, I think I'll buy a slim this summer.

Second redesign? Aren't they on thier 6th or 7th SKU right now?

If they make it even smaller, quieter and less heat producing I'll buy it.

The only thing they could do was to do a PS3 Slim that plays all PS2 and PS1 games, but that's not all that good cause I have a PS2 hooked up to my TV :P

Sony isn't Nintendo. They don't make 100 hardware iterations per generation. The slim is the last model you'll see.(The HDD sizes don't really count)

The Slim is the redesign, the next redesign will be the PS4. I hope they don't do what Nintendo did when they brought out a new Wii with no online or Gamecube support.

me i think they should flatten the ps3 out, the round top does not help me in any way shape or form , every time i set a wii on top it slides down , or a n64 , lol
