is it really worth £10 more just to get the rumble feature on some of the games?

Dualshock 3
Abso-freakin-lutely!
I just wish I had it when I played GOW and GOW II on my PS3 (I never had a PS2).
It's the best controller. I wish I had it. I just want to save my money up, and not throw it away aimlessly.
I ended up importing the white one from japan when it first came out. It certainly adds another dimension to games.
Yes it is! It's totally woth it!
When I had only the sixaxis it was fine... but remembering the rumble functions is pretty cool. It has become my primarily controller, never play without it! I guess the sixaxis should have never existed, I mean, a dual shock 3 "sixaxis" is fine, but sony and immersion should have worked their problems before ps3 launch...
:)
Yeah, I'd have to say i really love the DS3 now that ive been using it for a while. I imported one from Japan around christmas time, and just a single play session with it meant i could never go back to the cheap, light feel of the Sixaxis.
Personally I don't care.. I don't need a shaking controller to tell me that my head just got blown off..
With the Sixaxis functionality and the added addition of the rumble, the Dualshock 3 is now the best controller in the industry.
FUNNY STORY:
Yesterday I hooked up the PS2 and was playing some games. My hands, being accustomed to the rumble-less SIXAXIS, grew tired soon after all the vibrating began. I didn't realize how MUCH vibrating happens in most games. I used to not notice it but now I'm overly sensitive to it.
I got so sick of it that I had to turn off rumble in every PS2 I played. And like nickkcin said, it's too heavy. I love how light the SIXAXIS is.
If you want a second controller there is no reason NOT to get a Dualshock 3 over a Sixaxis. And yeah, in Australia they're $100AU (around $97US) for a Dualshock 3, still worth it if you want a second controller; at least that way you have one of each.

I dont really like rumble, I turned it off in my wiimotes and I havent bought a dual shock 3 yet and dont plan too. I think its a question of whether you personally like rumble
The DS3 is pretty good for some games, others don't really need the rumble. The only problem I really had with the original Sixaxis was that it wasn't very sturdy. I imported mine from the US before is came out here in the UK for only £29 which is good seeing that is much cheaper than the RRP. If you don't want to pay the extra, the imported controllers will likely still save you the £££.
"It is worth it.It felt light, but not cheap.
The old Six Axis felt cheap and to light. Dual Shock 3 feels "right"... and yeah, the rumble is great,

"I ended up importing the white one from japan when it first came out. It certainly adds another dimension to games.I did the exact same thing. I had it since this past November, and first used it with ratchet and clank. Yes it is totally worth it. The added weight some how feels better. MGS4 really takes advantage of the rumble too.
"
"Yes. $20 isnt a lot. A lot is what I spent on Rock Band controllers. Anyway, its not just about immersion. As others and I stated, the extra weight feels "right". With the sixaxis, it felt flimsy. As if it would break easy. Or fly right out of my hands.Well, $20 EXTRA dollars is what I meant to say. So basically $70.
