Ever since i installed the new firmware, my PS3 will auto shutdown at least 10-30 minutes into gameplay then start flashing a red light, anyone else have this problem.

The power saving options don't allow for 10 minutes shutoff, so that shouldn't be the problem. Sounds rather odd, I would contact Sony Support.

Maybe try resetting default settings and see what happens?

Well, if my memory is still intact, you have already claimed it a complete hardware failure and that sony was incompetent.

Call Sony, they should know what it is. If it is hardware failure and you really did get it just 2 days before it's under warrenty in which case they'll exchange it for a new one. Hell, most stores will replace an item like that with a new one if it's just 2 days old.

You didn't mention it was only in one game in only one spot. You probably should of, in fact, Konami should know of this to test it so they can fix it if it does turn out to be a widespread problem.

Still, we didn't know that. Might of helped. Someone prob would of mentioned atleast downloading a demo or w/e and seeing if the system did that during the demo too.
