Has anyone improved download speed by using a proxy?

Downloading Tokyo Jungle and it's pretty slow. I looked into improving speeds and saw that you can use a proxy program to use your PC as a proxy, dramatically improving download speeds. I went through the process, but my PS3 is unable to connect to the internet after changing the settings.

Has anyone successfully done this?

Did a restart of the program and it worked. Like, 10 times faster.

That this is working is pretty interesting. It seems more like the PS3 is having trouble with certain network configurations than PSN simply being slow as many are assuming.

I seem to be one of the few people that has never had a problem with download speeds from PSN. I actually get faster speeds than I do on Steam sometimes.

I did this with Privoxy and while it improved my PSN speeds, it's still way slower than my comp, 360 or even my Wii.
