    Tell ME

If you think Home for the ps3 has real potential to do a lot of good to the ps3
Honestly to me I think so. I mean I tried it and at first it felt like it was missing something
now to me thats all the extra junk thats going to be coming for home
since it bearly released it just came out with a couple of things but I gotta tell ya I feel like you can do soo much if they actually just bring it in I think thats where the fun is going to be
so im waiting to see some add ins and I can say this
being at home with friends is freaking awesome
butt idk tell me what you think of home?

Something to do when I'm bored and I don't feel like firing up any games. I can't see myself being too into it though.

Perhaps the better question to ask would be if it will do any good for Sony. I believe so. Just like there are some people who buy themes and whatnot, there will be some people who buy furniture and virtual items in Home. Otherwise, Home is just an extra feature that will be used by some people. No one is going to buy a PlayStation 3 just to use Home... At least I don't think so, because that would be pretty crazy.

i think home is tottaly awsome. within minutes i was talkin 2 ppl and having a laugh with em evan thoe i have never met them b4.

people just need to give it a chance and have an open mind. if you just walk around being a jerk and not socializing then you wont get much out of it. I cant wait till sony fill in the remaining peaces and make home complete to see what Home can really do.

Pretty much nothing in Home now interests me, but sure, I'll agree there's plenty of potential there.

Theres a fuck load of potential in there - i cant help but get the feeling that somwhere along the development line they had to pull the plug and start from scratch - theres nothing in there that screams I TOOK YEARS TO DEVELOP!!!!

The namco beta inclusiveness is a swee idea, as are the unique external homespaces.

And i dont think its tanking too badly, seeing as most times peopel try to get in the servers are STILL too crowded - i just really hope they add more to it soon, Dont get me wrong its a good way to have a laugh and kill an hour or so , but nothings really changed in it since i was in the beta a few months ago

    Someone hasn't touched it methinks.

Honestly I don't get the negativity I really don't. I was playing Resistance 2 last night but was a bit too tired to give Superhuman mode the concentration it required... I quit out loaded up Home and was joined by two of my PSN friends. We had a chat and a game of pool for half and hour and it was fun.

That is what Home's all about.

If you can't see the potential you're crazy. I do agree it should have launched with more but I mean, really, can't see the potential? Really?

Hopefully once the beta is over we will have more useful systems implemented which make playing games over PSN a lot easier.

I can't agree with there being no potential, when there are thousands of people playing and socialising, clubs, the future ability to stream video from your ps3 to your tvs in your rooms, game developers themselves being able to add to the Home world, game launching, etc..

To me Home feels like a 3d version of xbox live socialising, Sony just needs to make Home synchronize well with the PS3s normal usage so that Home and the XMB don't feel seperated... I believe there is lots and lots of potential... Sony just need to play their cards right.

People say that right now there isn't a lot of content to show for all of the years they have been working on it and thats true but I don't think people understand that the underlying system which runs this must of taken a lot of thought and time to develop, remember they are not just creating a game and leaving it at that, they are working on a system which needs to be flexible and able to expand to do anything they need, that is an incredibly complex thing to program.

Plus this is still a beta, the system needs to be tested and I doubt they needed to include everything they have created so far for Home in the beta to stress test the servers...

    Thats just my thoughts.

Much, much agree. The key word here is potential. Potential usually means crap now but we see room for improvement. and HOME now is well, not that good. However I do see room for improvement. Sony should make HOME the hub all for online games (mandatory) and give us more content Gears of war style where when it first comes out you have to pay, but latter down the line, its free; (I think thats how GoW did it), either way it will keep people coming in and expanding the program.

Its alright. I'm sure Sony could do a lot of stuff with it, and they probably will. But until then, I don't reall like it too much.

I'm still not sure if it's just a lame second life thing or if can turn out to be something great. For now I'll refrain myself from making any judgements.  What I do know is that I couldn't find anything in there that attracted me, but I'm sure other people will.

Maybe when I have a headset or a USB keyboard I'll be able to enjoy it more. It's impossible to comunicate with just the controller.

It has potential for sure but until it actually has some connection to the games we play I don't see how it really is of any benefit to the PS3. Game launching should have been the main feature of HOME and hopefully one day it will be. You'd think if they were going to release it at this time of year game launching and game spaces for LBP and R2 would have been a priority.

SOE already has two MMORPGs in development coming to PS3, so I'm not sure another one is the solution. Also, have they revealed the details of Home's development? Somehow I doubt it'd be enough for a good MMORPG. It still has room to grow, so hopefully they'll do something interesting with it.

Have you seen The Agency?  It's full of fail and looks like graphics on a PC from 2002.  DC Universe online is the only other non kiddy MMO

What happened to EVerquest?  The PS2 version was a lot of fun, just had bad graphics.

I've never had problems getting into the servers, but so far, the whole thing is complete dogshit.

Maybe Sony can find some way to use it for something else than to hock hats and couches for a buck or make you watch Twilight trailers.
I mean, something as simple as trophies unlocking exclusive clothing/furniture/art would give me some incentive to trick out my character/apartment and maybe turn the tide for people's interest in trophies versus achievements. Hell, they should just outright steal alottamechanics/services from Animal Crossing o make it interesting. The service plays like shit when it comes to loading environments/other users. I have fat pipes, this shit shouldn't be this slow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this not called a beta in Japan and is considered launched software there?

Is there potential? Yes, but Sony's penchant for not understanding the importance and awesomeness in an online service makes me terribly pessimistic.

Whilst listening to the bombcast i came up with an idea (dont know if anyone else has already thought of this or even if its possible but) :  They should host tournaments in games that can be watched on the cinema screens in home by a general audience.  Abit like Enemy Territory Tv where you can spectate on pro matches.

I dont know how feasible it would be to stream live footage to HOME, but i could imagine making regular trips to it if i had the chance to watch tournaments.

I was thinking something similar, this kind of usage is what would suit it best towards the gamer audiance (such as ourselves)
Whether it fulfills our desires or not people you gotta remember theres an awful lot of soccer mums and kids out there that will just kill for a cowboy hat, so theres no way it will "fail" as such, it just needs to find a reason for existanec amongst more serious gamers

I think HOME is so awesome.  I find myself going into HOME more often than I play my games now.  I don't know why.  I go to the bowling alley and every game I bowl I always meet someone new and interesting.  It's great.  Now I just can't wait for sony to add more stuff.

Never played it so I'm not gonna try to review it but what I will say is that it seems that many people complaining have one main problem: not much to do. That can certainly be fixed, Sony just better get around to showing people what Home's potential is before the market loses interest.

I personally think home is great.  Before Home the ONLY way you could meet other gamers online was by playing a online game, well the problem with that is during online matches people are conentrating and arent in the mood to socialize, i like how Home is dedicated for something like that.. ive met TONS of people and added them on my friends list, my only problem is my friends list will get full pretty soon because i do meet a lot of cool people on there.

All they  need  is the ablity to buy pool tables, TVs and picture frames and have universal game launching for all online games. I cant wait until E3 rolls around, i bet anything you will be able to go in the theatre and watch sony's press conference live, that would be sick!

There is definitely lots of potential. I just don't find it all that fun right now.

I spent a few minutes wandering around the plaza and observing packs of dude avatars asking the small handful of girl avatars the same question over and over "r u a girl?" and "do u want to talk in my apt?".

Second Life is scary enough. I don't need anything resembling it mixed in with my consoles.
