I just got a ps3 for free. So free and huge is better than costly and slim.

Not a chance, I only got mine a month and a half ago anyway, but I don't care to much about size - performance and capabilities are much more important

Besides, I'd need to know features first, it might lack the built Wi-Fi or the support for normal laptop HDDs. Plus, every time I look at mine I think of 2001, and that makes me happy.

Fuck no.  That 60 gig PS3 is one of the best console purchases I have ever made, if only because it makes all my PS2 games look way nicer on my Samsung than they ever looked when I played them on my PS2 slimline through component cables.

No. Why would I replace existing hardware with the same hardware? It's not like going from a DS to DS Lite, since you are holding onto the actual hardware, and the screen was brighter. Unless there's something more than aesthetics, I can't see a reason to repurchase something that works just fine for me.

At the moment my answer is no. Although if my PS3 fails for any reason or if the slim promises better performance then I would consider getting one. 
 
If it is real and people find that later on their PS3 fails, they will be forced to get a slim anyway. Or get a phat one 2nd hand....
