Is it okay to recharge PS3 controllers if their battery isn't fully recharged? Is there a memory-effect? I've had my PS3 for a year now, and I have recharged them plenty of times. But I still want to make sure: is it okay ?

Yea I remember reading somewhere that you don't have to worry about that with the controllers. They'll wear out eventually, but recharging them when they're not empty won't wear them out any faster.

No, you don't have to worry... they are good lithium batts, they will die eventually (like 6 years), but by that time Sony will have batteries you can buy, basically open the controller and plug in the new battery.

    Simple.

As Sentry said, modern Li-Ion batteries have little to no memory effect.

the best way to ensure their health is to charge them on a regular basis, and roughly once a month (regularity is not vital) discharge them 100% then recharge again, this just makes sure the chemicals are kept fresh and remain capable of their maximum performance.

You can apply this to all lithium ion batteries.

Cha, what the others said. Dun sweat it. By the time you're controller is dying a new batch of systems will be arriving and you'll be able to get a new cont dirt cheap anyways.

Yeah, exactly. Best thing is to keep using them until they are nearly dead, its what I do. Then I plug n play.
