I hate it as well. I really liked the Spider-Man font...

Because it's the PS3-that-looks-like-a-PS2 era, not the shiny new Spiderman PLAYSTATION 3 era.

Does this mean the boxes will no longer have the see-through plastic on top of it? That thing really annoys me, it feels really pointless. Though I cant say I like the new style, though its more like the original PS/PS2 style it feels very imposing over the boxart.

Isnt the most important point that it looks distinctly diffrent from the current PS3 game boxes and it might through off less savvy consumers?

I really like the format thew have now, I don't like that there changing it.
I just hope the box is the same size as the old ones so that my PS3 games wont look all weird on my shelf cause some of them will be short boxes, and some of them tall ones.

I like the new box design.

i always found it weird the ps3 had its header down the side as every one else has it up top. Wii, 360, PSP and PC. The DS was the only other one to do it, and i think it's because like the ps3 case it was more square then vertically rectangular.

I for one am not a fan of the Ratchet and Clank box art. It's too generic.

Personally, I hated the PS3 boxes because they were out of line with -everything- else, if you want to really get in to bitching about being 'uniform', and I always disliked the Spiderman font. I like that the PS3 is starting to line up with its' predecessors and peers when it comes to visual aeshteiblahblahblahblah.

cool, i hope that they keep it the same size. i really like the size of the ps3 cases. it saves a lot of plastic also. i think it is alright, i hope that they save it so they don't keep on changing it.

It looks so bland and thrown together. The old boxes were sleek and new. In my opinion, they were way better than the 360 and Wii cases; more streamlined and placed more emphasis on the art. Now... just back to the bland, old look.

Hate it. The old boxes spines' were better too with just the "3". "

Sony is basically trying to rebrand the playstation brand... i think they threw out what they first had planned for the PS3, and came up with another plan.

I like it, but now my PS3 collection won't match anymore. And since there's a PSN icon on Ratchet & Clank, does that mean this game will have multiplayer? O_o

That thing looks like it came from a swap meet.

I thought the other style look nicer, this reminds me of the PSP's case too much.

I do not like the slim look and I do not like the new box look.

I like the second box design with the "Playstation Network" and sometimes the "Only on Playstation" wording on the same level below the plastic on the case itself.
 
This just looks bland to me.
 
Oh, and just for you font lovers out there, the "Spider-Man" font is called Homoarakhn - now all it's good for is annoying people with label makers :(
