I recently bought my PS3 for MGS4. I have completed it now and I'm looking for some other good games to play.
I've already got flOw, echochrome, pixeljunk monsters, lego star wars: the complete saga, and GT5 prologue.

What would you recommend to someone looking to get some good PS3 games? I'm not to bothered about shooters, since I already have lots of shooters on my PC, I'm looking for unique games that aren't available on other platforms.

Well Uncharted matches your needs pretty well. Try out Assassins Creed as well and even Burnout Paradise

Well I'm guessing you mean FPSs.  Uncharted is an awesome 3rd person shooter.  Heavenly Sword is really short but really awesome.  If you can pick it up for $40.00 or so it is worth it.  Warhawk is an awesome 3rd person multiplayer game.  DMC 4 is pretty good too.  And even if you are full on shooters, Resistance was the flagship title and it's sequel is coming out this fall along with Killzone 2 in February.  Hope this helps. :)

As for disc-based games, you should check out Resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Future, Call of Duty 4, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, The Orange Box now that they've patched it, etc.

I would for sure check out Resistance, since you'll want to be caught up for Resistance 2. :)

The only other PS3 games I own besides MGS4 are Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Future and Resistance. They range from good to very good and are all PS3 exclusives.

If you've never played Ninja Gaiden before, Sigma might be worth checking out. Folklore is beautiful and different if you want try something really unique to the system. Warhawk is a really fun but not very friendly to beginners.

I second any recommendations to play/get Ratchet and Clank; I got that for a sibling and ended up playing it more than they have (so far) and had a blast (albeit there were a few frustrating bugs).

You could cash in your Pain voucher if you have one, but that kind of got boring by the time I was done with the tutorial. I'd recommend GT5:Prologue but it still needs a few more content upgrades to justify the 40 bucks for it.

Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and Folklore.  All really great games and exclusive.  Ratchet and Clank is of pretty good length.  Uncharted and Heavenly Sword are short but awesome and Folklore should last you a while with different side quests and the dlc on the store.

As a first time owner I bought Uncharted, Ratchet and Warhawk for the multiplayer fix. Later I got Burnout Paradise and Call Of Duty 4. But that was just the beginning.

R&C, Cod4, MGS4, Warhawk, Resistance :D

Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword and Gran Turismo. And even though you said no shooters, I would still recommend Resistance 1.

Uncharted, R&C, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm and littlebigplanet when it releases are the only unqiue games I can think of.

I think "Lair" deserve also a spot, it should be pretty cheap now and with the control patch it's pretty good.

GT5, Warhawk, R&C, Uncharted (PS3 GOTY 07), Heavenly Sword, and maybe Folklore if you like RPG style games. Those are just the exclusives though..

As for PSN games, Everyday Shooter, Super Stardust HD, and Pain are a few great ones.

Definitely Uncharted. That game is one of the best on the platform.

Uncharted is an easy pick and probably the best ps3 game behind mgs4.  I would also get ratchet and clank future the game is gorgeous and fun

I'm in the same boat as you.  I bought the MGS4 bundle, and once I finished MG4, I went looking for games to purchase.  So far I've gotten Folklore, which is beautiful, and pretty fun to play, and I've played the Uncharted demo, and plan to pick that up as soon as I finish Folklore.

Some good games to get are COD4, Uncharted, Resistance, and Warhawk.

If you like baseball or sports games, MLB 08: The Show will blow your mind.

Wait until LittleBigPlanet comes out. Pretty much, the only unique exclusive game coming tot he PS3 this year that isn't a shooter.

Maybe Resistance: Fall of Man, it's controls are a little odd, but it's a good game overall.

Orange Box and Assassins Creed I think are both 29.99 new at most retailers, and I think the PS3 greatest hits games are on the way. If your looking for the most bang for your buck.

I bought GTA4 and UEFA 08, but when I beat GTA, I traded both those games at GameStop for FIFA 08 and Burnout Paradise.

Super Stardust HD is tons of fun + trophies! Burnout Paradise will have trophies soon, even backward compatible ones. I will get Resistance: Fall of Man next week because they are lowering the price to 29.99, sweeeet.

Might also check out ninja gaiden, but I'm not sure, since I plan to get Soul Calibur when it comes out, and I don't want two fighting games (I know they are different, but stll)
