Was looking into getting a PS3 here in the coming weeks and I would prefer getting the 60GB with full BC. I'd settle for used and it would save me money too over a newer console. I havn't really checked in store yet but does anyone know how hard they are to come by these days?

Yeah it's possible, just look around hard, try ebay, maybe amazon, or your local gamestop and whatnot.

I could only find 60gb's on eBay for $1000.  I ended up getting an 80GB.  Even used 60's on Craigslist were over $600.  I didn't really want a used one...too risky with hardware that expensive.

Gamestop does have some refurbished ones online for $450, although I'm not sure if it's accurate that they're in stock or not.

Yes, I friend of mine got one last week from eBay.

You can get them at Gamestop still, but check the website and call before going to pick one up (if you choose the GS option). I am still shocked that they go for so much on Ebay.

It's possible, but very hard.

You might even have to pay almost as much as you would if you went out and buy a new 40gb. It depends on if BC is that important to you.

I bet Ebay would be your best bet. I doubt you'll get them too cheaply tho.

And you really only need one if BC is very, very important to you. Most people can find the 80GB emulation adequate...even though it has quite a few issues.
