PixelJunk Monsters - There's a demo, so there's no reason why you shouldn't try it out before buying. It's awesome. Mortal Kombat II - The online can be laggy sometimes, but I can enjoy playing just the single-player. Although there's no difficulty to choose from, I believe it's on the hardest mode already, and I can't make it up very far... I don't think I've gotten above the first half... Tough AI!
I'll just go ahead and state the obvious; Super Stardust HD. Its pretty with great controls and its extremely addicting. And no I don't just play for the trophies, I've been playing since it was released. I'm in the top 4,000, may not sound like much, but playing a 2-4 hour game is tough work. Nevertheless, it is my pick and play gaming goodness.
PixelJunk Monsters is great if you're into tower-defense games. Super Stardust HD is a great twin-stick shooter. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a personal favorite of mine, even though the online community is pretty much dead on PSN.

I have super stardust HD and its pretty fun and I love it, echochrome kicks ass, but it feels sort of lacking. After having purchased the full version I feel it really requires something that I can't quite put my finger on but definitely stops it from being perfect. If I had to say so it would be an objective, I find that the game has no objective at all, I mean sure you can argue the objective is to break the scores, but I mostly just play to enjoy myself,but it fails on that by employing a time limit on puzzles so I can't just take my time on the super hard ones because it runs out.
I wanna get quest for booty (after I play tools of destruction) and I will definitely get Fat Princess, Penny Arcade, and possibly Wipeout and Savage Moon, I really think the PSN is superior to the XBLA.

I'm really impressed by the particular uniqueness of the types of games they put on PSN, but I'd have to say XBLA trumps it in both quality & quantity of titles. This really isn't the thread for that, though.

Please do not get PAIN, I cant stress this enough. It only has one level and if you're looking for a few trophies they take ages to get and thats only for a bronze.
i have bionic commando-really good. its def worth it
gauntlet-really bad not worth 5$ unless you like this type of game.
everyday shooter-its pretty fun. worth the money.
qore- idk if you count this but i love it. def worth it and if you buy the 13 episode thing then you also get calling all cars. not to mention the betas and demos.
WipEout HD is getting amazing reviews, it's gonna have a platinum trophy, amazing graphics, and all around awesome remake of a classic game. Day 1 purchase for sure.
Super Stardust HD is a great downloadable game too, I honestly prefer it over Geometry Wars.
Wipeout HD and LBP are basically what pushed me to shell out the $400 for the Triple. Finding the other great stuff on PSN has helped me mentally justify that purchase.
Like Shadows_kill pointed out, Bionic Commando Rearmed is really a game that is worth buying and there is a demo so try it first. Caution though, the first 30 minutes are frustrating due to the difficulty of the game but once you get used to no jumping its a 5 star game worth your time.
If you are looking for something bigger Siren Blood Curse is quite an interesting game. Horror game with a great sense of player immersion that is sure to scare anyone out there.
My favorite PSN game is Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty, SSHD is also fun as is The Last Guy. If you have Tools of Destructiuon then it's a sin if you dont get QFB. GREAT GAME

I disagree, Pixeljunk Eden & Echochrome give XBLA's best a run for their money. There's different breeds of games on both services.

I wasn't too impressed by The Last Guy demo, or Tools of Destruction. I rented it and it seemed like a prettier version of the PS2 games.
This evening I bought Stardust & Siren, but have yet to jump into them.
Warhawk is pretty good. Like people before me have stated, WipeOut seems to be a winner. I love the F-Zero franchise, so I'm slightly biased towards futuristic racing games.
