Xbox 360 style controller for PS3?

#1 Posted by BonOrbitz (2419 posts) -

I'm currently playing L.A. Noire on the PS3 and am not enjoying (or getting used to) the dual-shock controller. It's so uncomfortable after using the 360's controller for so long. Does anyone have any suggestions for a third party Xbox 360 style controller I could purchase for the PS3 or is it best just to "suck it up?"

Thanks! Unless someone has a glowing review for another controller I think I'll be running out to pick this one up at lunch.

I personally would just suck it up. But if you really want a 360 style controller, I'd get one of the Rocketfish Wireless PS3 controllers.

@bonorbitz: Amazon has that controller for a little bit cheaper if you want to order one online.
Another alternative is this controller:
Gamestop should have that one in stock too. The afterglo controller is wired but you do get rumble. Also it is a little bit smaller than the normal PS3 controller. I own both of these controllers and have noticed that the dead zones on the sticks are larger than normal. This can be problematic in shooters, but I don't think it will make a difference in games like L.A. Noire.

Since L.A. Noire is not a particularly demanding game, I vote for "sucking it up."  I'm having no trouble with the DualShock 3 myself, and I'm used to both Xbox 360 controllers and keyboard/mouse.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I did go out at lunch yesterday and bought the Pro Elite. I haven't tried it yet, but I will this weekend. Review to come.
